My younger brother and best man, we have been all over the world together. From homes in Italy and Germany, to the tops of mountains in New Mexico. There is no one else I’d rather have by my side. Matthew lives in St. Louis Park, MN with his fiancé Anna, and is a police officer for the City of Crystal. So much respect.

Joel is the O.G. friend of my time in Minnesota. Living down the street from me growing up, we spent countless days at each other’s homes, or riding our bikes and roller blades somewhere in between. I owe a lot of who I am to Joel and his family, having also worked for Joel’s mom Hillary at their family business in Hopkins. Joel was the one that I could go to during the “tough times” that teenagers experience, especially when my Dad was away during his military career. Joel is an accomplished media journalist in the automotive industry, and is truly one of the few people who is living their dream job every day. Joel lives in Plymouth, MN with his wife Karen and two children Raya and Seth. Oh, and of course, their dog Otto.

Same as Holly. Holly and Abby are sisters. Abby also did my hair for years and still does occasionally when she can fit me in. ;-) They both live in Mexico, MO.

I met Charley during Little League tryouts in 5th grade. It was cold and raining, a terrible day for baseball. But not for Charley. Charley was next to me in line smiling and singing, pumping up everyone’s spirits: “Having a heatwave, a tropical heatwave, Having a heatwave, a tropical heatwave…” That attitude hasn’t changed a bit and Charley has spread that same energy to so many others, from our time sailing a group of Boy Scouts through the Florida Keys, to the streets of New York City, where he now lives with his wife Megan and works in “showbiz” for The Bowery Presents.

Mindy became my sister-in-law when I was 16 so she's been in my life for a long time! She's married to my brother Andy and lives in Colorado.

Ah Miguel… We met in college during a fierce week of, um… underclassman development… as Mike was joining my fraternity. The ultimate competitor, Dwyer’s family cabin is the location of an annual boot hockey tournament, which has become one of my best memories and anticipated events every year. I have learned a lot from Dwyer and his whole family about what it means to be caring and kind to all people, and build strong relationships across generations. Mike lives in Hugo, MN with his wife Jeanna and their son Breck.

April officially joined our family when I was 17, also a long time. She's married to my oldest brother Shawn and lives in Iowa. She started out thinking I was bratty and not liking me and still has that opinion sometimes today. ;-)

Ian is part of a great group of friends from high school that I am lucky to still have today. Ian and I built an even stronger bond over the great game of hockey. Actually, if it weren’t for Ian teaching me how to put on equipment in my first –ever season my senior year of High School, I might not even be playing today. I admire Ian for his focus and dedication to his passions- where average performance is not good enough- especially if there is better equipment and gear to improve it! Ian lives in Minneapolis, MN with his wife Pepsi.

Anisha became my friend while she was a trainer at my first after-college job. I couldn't have imagined I'd ever be in a position to call her "Nish" as I had heard others do. I also had no idea that we'd be roommates for over three years and analyze to death every move of every guy we were interested in. Well, one guy for her, who would eventually become her husband. Nish lives in Indiana.

Speaking of great groups, these next 3 are part of a pretty legendary one…Just ask anyone at the University of Minnesota about the Outlaws. OK maybe not anyone, but we built a legacy. I met Kyle after joining AKPsi in college. Not long after he took me across the country to his home state Colorado to climb Pike’s Peak and explore they city of Boulder. Kyle is an awesome partner to travel with and he loves the next adventure- so much so that he previously lived in a mobile home with his wife Carly, where they traveled across the US, working remotely and making all the rest of us extremely jealous of their wanderlust! Kyle and Carly are back living in Colorado (for now…).

Jenny has often been referred to as my #mftwifey. I don't know if I'd have survived grad school without her. We grew a lot together as we learned beside one another. Jenny is my sole bridesmaid here in Nashville.

Scott and Kyle were roommates in college and while they definitely came as a package deal, Scott easily carries his own weight and is a great friend to have. One of the most intelligent people I know, Scott makes great conversations and discussions with his ability to think and speak on so many topics- both simple and complex, in unique and provoking ways. Scott also enjoys being adventurous, especially in discovering new restaurants and experiences through the many places we’ve traveled together. He and I share the passion for experiencing local cultures and finding those gems that give a place its identity. Scott and his wife Molly live in Chaska, MN with their daughters Adeline and Annika.

Kristen was a roommate here in Nashville, also possibly known as Lyla, the goldendoodle's, mom. We shared 1.5 sweet years as roommates before Kristen moved to Seattle to be with her now husband, before moving to and settling in Pennsylvania.
Noah Odland

I met Noah my second year of college as a friend of Scott’s, making the transfer from NDSU to the U of M. He’s our rescue-friend. In addition to being part of the inseparable Outlaws, Noah is also a fantastic wedding date- I was lucky enough to have him on a romantic getaway through Napa Valley, California, where we made stops at the great brewery scene on the way home through Santa Rosa, Petaluma and even my birth place, Sausalito, CA. A night out with Noah is always one to remember, as hard as that may be in the morning sometimes… Noah is currently remodeling a house in St. Louis Park, MN into the ultimate bachelor pad, and is also a very accomplished beer connoisseur. We’ll see what he thinks of the local offerings of TN!
