Question

Where should I park for events on Tallent Lane?

Answer

We live on a small lane and as a consideration to our neighbors, ask that guests park nearby and walk in. We recommend guests look for parking on Yount Street or Stag's View Lane. Washington Street along Yountville Park (on the north end of town, near the Napa Valley Lodge) is also a great location less than a quarter mile from our house. If you park on Lande or Adams be sure to park all the way on the side walk and be careful not to block driveways. You could also park at the Yountville Community Center or any public parking lot in Yountville and beckon the Yountville Trolley to drive you to Tallent Lane. To request the trolley call 707-312-1509. There is rarely a wait! Finally, Lyfts and Ubers are plentiful! We know many great people who drive for them in their off hours. A ride from the hotels on Solano should be under $15. Remember, there is a lot of policing of drinking and driving and being chauffered is cheaper than a DUI.

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

We mean it when we say wear what makes you feel most fabulous. Seersucker suits, sequin evening gowns, khakis and three-button shirts are all welcome here. We just encourage you to wear more sensible footwear. The lane is not paved and you'll want happy feet for dancing later on.

Question

What's up with this wedding parade and what if I don't like walking?

Answer

We thought it would be super fun to hoof the quarter mile from our house to the Community Center just like newlyweds do in the old world. If participating in a processional is not your thing, see the above question on where to park. We'll be beckoning the Yountville Trolley to deliver folks who do not want to walk over to the Community Center.

Question

Is there an after party?

Answer

Probably... but we're not coordinating one! We get up at 5:30 in the morning, so we're starting our festivities early so we don't fall asleep on all of you. For those looking for some post-nuptial festivities, we recommend the bar at Bardessono, the patio at R&D, and for those not averse to bad attitudes and cigarette smoke, head to Pancha's, a Yountville dive-bar institution.

Question

Your parents keep telling us not to expect a "normal" wedding. What does that mean?

Answer

We're old, agnostic and averse to too much formality. There will be no string quartet or lavish cocktail hour or formal banquet hall. There will be a lot of love and more awesome people than we ever suspected would actually come to celebrate us. You will be fed. You will have fun. You will make new friends. And, you will probably drink too much. You will love it. But it will be unconventional and at times chaotic. You can gossip about it when you get back home.
