Carytown is a great place to spend time. There are plenty of shops, restaurants & even the historic Byrd Theater. Take your time exploring some of our favorite stores (and enjoy the $1 rates at the parking decks. The address will lead you to one of them). We've spent countless hours walking to and from Carytown!
Stop by this classic movie palace to experience one of the most unique movie going experiences around! The large theater plays all sorts of films (old & new) with a wonderful organ performance prior to the film. We definitely suggest it. This was one of our favorite hidden gems in Richmond.
This museum inspired us throughout our time in Richmond and beyond. The first time we saw a piece by Kehinde Wiley, it was proudly displayed in the main rotating exhibit hall. This was one of the places we considered as our venue! It didn't make the cut, but we still love it.
This park is gorgeous during the Spring. Sprawling hills with flowers and beautiful architecture make this a peaceful & quiet place to enjoy nature. There's also a lovely Japanese garden inside! This was a venue option as well! It wasn't our top choice in the end, but it is absolutely worth a visit.
This may be a wild departure from the rest & relaxation of parks and museums, but if you want to spend some time on the wild side, King's Dominion can be a fun option! Please note that we don't suggest fitting a theme park visit into your schedule during one of the busy event days. This is more of a downtime activity.
