Matron of Honor
This is going to get really sappy... It's funny how life works. I always wanted a sister, but I did not get one the traditional way. I met Maddie at almost 20 and now, 4 years later, I could not imagine my life without her. It feels like I have known her my entire life. I've said it a million times, but I think our souls are definitely intertwined, that you can find a soulmate in a best friend, that in another life, we were actually sisters. We were made for each other. There is no other way to describe it, we were never apart from the time we met until she got married, and even though I love Adam, I am still holding out for the day she runs back to me.

Brick Wall Waterfall... My first-ever dance partner, the other mom to all our baby dolls, my biggest supporter, and hater. Growing up we would fight one second and be laughing the next. She's my Dot-Twin and I'm so thankful that our friendship has continued for 21 years and will continue when we are in a nursing home.

Isaac has been and always will be Sydney's best friend--whether he likes it or not. He is her baby brother after all. My brother and I used to play Narnia in the woods in front of our house and dream about worlds that would take us away from reality. We'd dream about being authors, warriors, parents, and teachers. We'd fight and scream and cry. We grew up together. He was my first best friend and my first enemy. My brother told me stories and made up games. My little brother taught me how to be kind, how to love, and how to laugh. Even though he lives exactly 316 miles from me, I hope he knows how proud I am of him and that he will always mean the world to me, just like he did the day I met him.

This podcast passes the Bechdel Test... Morgan and I met at Mount St. Joseph and not only did we have a pop culture podcast, but we also became best friends. Morgan is the bad-ass friend that everyone needs. Not only could she steal your man if she wanted to (she wouldn't), but she would ensure that no one messes with you. So thankful to have this sweet soul celebrating with me.

This isn't RuPaul's Best Friends Race... But if it was, we'd be the Heathers. I didn't realize when I started dating Austin, I would also gain one of my best friends. Who knew millennials could be so cool? I'm so thankful for Emily and our shared love of literally everything. I can't wait to start our commune and never leave each other alone.

"BERTIE BOY DO YOU WANNA PLAY A GAME" -Noah & Sydney every week on their podcast. How do you even begin to describe Noah or my friendship with him? I'll try my best, but I do not think these words will even begin to cover it all. Noah was the only reason people listened to our podcast about the Office. When Maddie, Noah, and I went to get tattoos, he got his upside so he could read it. He held us hostage and forced Maddie and me to watch Max Keebler's big move, When he told me he was moving back to Michigan, I sobbed. After that, the three of us spent every moment together until he left. If I had the ability to go back in time, I would choose to relive those moments forever. Noah never fails to make me laugh, gives the best hugs, and by the way, his wife, Lauren, is hilarious, smart, and beautiful and somehow puts up with his antics every day. I can't wait to get the Iconic Trio back together again.

Dancing queen, young and sweet... The queen of retro fashion and thrifting, Delaney always has the cutest outfit on and will probably outdress me at my own wedding. I'm so thankful for my friendship with Delaney, she is so funny and one of the most thoughtful people I know. I've also gotten into some of the craziest situations in my life with Delaney like staying in a stranger's basement Airbnb in NYC and jumping a ditch to avoid being trapped at a stranger's house before they closed the gate on us. I hope we continue to make crazy memories until we're too old to jump ditches in a honda civic.

And they were roommates... From late-night trips to Mcdonald's to binging every show on Netflix, Skyler makes every moment the most fun. I laugh the most when I'm with Sky doing the MOST random things. I'm grateful that even though we live far apart now, we can still stay in touch and catch up via facetime almost every day.

Coercion: forced against one's will. i.e. Sydney forcing a bedridden Maggie to be her friend. Though we joke about it, I honestly believe that I forced Maggie into a friendship. When Maggie and I played volleyball together we were teammates, but never really friends. Until Maggie got into a really bad car accident. I decided to go visit Maggie one day and I never really left. We spent basically every single day together from that moment until I went to college in the fall of that year. Even then, we were inseparable for a while. Even when life gets in the way, I know that I can count on Maggie to be there for me and I hope she knows that she can always call me or show up at my house to talk drama, get food, watch movies or when she inevitably needs bailed out of jail.
