What can I say? The ice cream options in Los Angeles abound and they are AMAZING. If Salt & Straw's creamy (sometimes crazy) concoctions don't appeal to you, stop by Wanderlust for travel-inspired ice cream flavors. It definitely won't disappoint.
Get their taco sampler plate!! You'll get the all-stars of their braised meats and they're T_T.
A late night favorite of ours (open after 9pm, closed Sunday and Monday) during college––get their al pastor (with pineapple!), lengua, and cabeza tacos, and wash it down with an ice-cold pineapple juice!
Have a great down-to-earth brisket stew to beat the cold and (potentially) rain. Salt to your own taste, and add in as many green onions as you want (Theo recommends putting enough to make the soup hardly visible).
Treat yoself. It's not AYCE, but it's arguably more satisfying than lower quality AYCE, with great quality meat and excellent service. Go for lunch or early dinner to beat the lines!
Get great coffee without driving into LA proper. Pick up a bag of Heart beans here, if you'd like––it beats paying for shipping! And if coffee isn't your thing, their specialty iced teas are honestly pretty great. Like, we order them instead of coffee sometimes.
This is one of our go-to food places whenever Dorothy comes down to LA. It's our favorite poke place!
