All beaches, especially in Hawai'i, are beautiful- but Hanalei Bay is truly special.

Stop here on your way to the canyon. There are great spots for coffee, lunch, and a general store for provisions.

Hanapepe

Really cute town with a historic main street.

Ke Ala Hele Makalae Coastal Path

Beautiful (and flat) walking path spanning 8 miles of the Coconut Coast. Easy access from Kapa'a town.

Red Dirt Waterfall

Easy drive from Waimea town.

Sleeping Giant: Nounou East Trailhead

One of the first hikes we did when we visited Kauai in 2017. It's a little tough but the ocean view is worth it! 2 miles in and 2 miles out. The west trailhead is also supposed to be awesome! Let us know if you do that hike instead!

Waipo'o Falls Trail

We did this hike in 2017 and it has the most incredible view of Waimea Canyon, ending at Waipo'o Falls. The trailhead is down a dirt road to the right of the Koke'e State Park sign. You can street park here off Koke'e Rd or if you have a 4x4, you can drive down the dirt road and find parking closer to the trailhead. The dirt road is one-way and be mindful of mud from recent rain.

No frills- best burgers on Kauai. Don't skip this!

Lemongrass Grill - Kauai

The first restaurant we went to on Kauai. The sign said Live Entertainment. An elderly woman was covering Pink Floyd on the ukulele. We cannot recommend this place enough!
