We met at The Ranch Saloon on Sunday, September 3, 2017. Neither one of us was looking to date anyone, but a mutual friend, Kimberly, introduced us. We took a two step lesson together and shared a few more dances together that evening. Before leaving, I asked Dean if I could have his contact information in case I came back. It would be nice to have a guy who knows how to dance if I came back here again. With peer pressure from one of Dean’s friends, he finally texted me later in the week. The timing was not the greatest as I had just found out that a close friend of mine passed away unexpectedly. Dean texted me throughout that week to check on me. I texted Dean on a Sunday and said I had some free time, would he like to meet for lunch. We did, and in light of recent events, our first conversations were quite deep and pensive. Eventually, Dean asked me on our first real date to go apple picking. He was respectful and a true gentleman, funny and charming. We had our first kiss on this date. He melted my walls with his kindness. We had a lot in common and shared the same values. Dean had never married before. Could it be that I was the one he’d been waiting for, for 58 years? Could it be this was a man I could feel safe and trust my heart to be vulnerable again? ..... The answer in both instances, was ‘Yes!’. We both feel like God had His hand on us from the beginning. We each have so much love and respect for the other. We started as friends and that friendship grew into a deep, abiding love for each other. We can’t wait to become Husband and Wife and for you, our family and friends, to be part of this great celebration! Thank you, in advance, for being part of our “happily ever after”. We love each of you and are so honored to have you share in our special day!
