When should I RSVP by?

Where should I stay if I’m traveling in?

Answer

There are several hotels at The Wharf conveniently located within walking distance of the reception venue. We’ll be staying at the Canopy Hilton, which is right next door to Hyatt House. Both of these options offer great options for a comfortable and convenient stay during the celebration! If you’re looking for more affordable options, the next closest neighborhood with hotels is Navy Yard, a convenient 7-minute drive from The Wharf.

What are the parking options for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Navigating parking in D.C. can be tricky, so here’s what you need to know: For the Ceremony: There is no public parking available at the church. There is mostly street parking nearby. We highly recommend using rideshare services to the ceremony, especially if you’re staying at The Wharf. For the Reception: We will transport guests from the ceremony to the party via shuttle. If you choose to drive, garage parking is available underground at The Wharf for $39. If you choose to rent a car for the weekend, we suggest valet parking at your hotel and using rideshare / the complimentary shuttles on Friday to make things easier.

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, we would like our special day to remain an adults-only occasion. We kindly request no children at the ceremony and reception so everyone can relax and celebrate with us.

Answer

Your RSVP card will indicate the number of seats we’ve reserved for your party. We kindly ask that you honor this number when confirming your attendance so we can ensure a seamless celebration for everyone. Thank you for understanding!

Black Tie Optional. There are no required colors for our special day.

How is the weather in March?

Answer

March in DC is a mix of crisp and comfortable! Temperatures typically range from the mid-40s to the low-60s, depending on the day. Our venue is on the water which makes for a lovely outdoor experience, but it might be a little chilly on the balcony, especially in the evening. Please be advised, we will have coat check onsite.

Where are the main events?

Answer

Ceremony: Indoors at our home church, New Bethel Baptist Church. Party: At the Dockmaster Building located on the Wharf of the Potomac River. For full details, please visit the Schedule tab on our wedding website. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
