Dorian and Jarret's love story kicked off in the most millennial way possible—on Hinge, the dating app designed to be deleted (mission accomplished!). They matched in January 2022, and while the conversation was electric, Jarret seemed to have a very strict texting window: between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. every day, like he was on some sort of texting curfew (he wasn’t, we checked). Their first date was set for a Sunday, but Dorian’s excitement got the best of her, and she convinced Jarret to move it up to Saturday. Despite him being an hour and a half late (thanks to her last-minute change), they still managed to make it to Dave & Buster’s. From the first hug and jokes about tardiness, it felt like they'd known each other forever - down to the hostess saying they made a cute couple (turns out she was right!). At first, Dorian wiped the floor with Jarret in a few games, leaving him shocked and rethinking his life choices. But his competitive spirit kicked in, and he somehow managed to win every game for the rest of the night (or so he says). The real magic, though, happened at the end of the night. While Dorian waited in the car with Jarret for her Uber, he played his favorite love song by Drake, Teenage Fever. Little did he know, it was her favorite song by Drake too. They sang every word together, just as her Uber pulled up. As she left, he texted her the lyrics, "out of body, that's just how I feel when I'm around you shawty." That was the moment they both knew something truly special was beginning. And the rest, as they say, is history!
