Wedding Party

Lucas Turner

Best Man

Lucas has been Taz’s right hand man for more than a decade and a half. The years of triumphs, shared passions, inside jokes and frequent wrestling matches have forged an indestructible bond between them. They’re like brothers, only closer (but still brothers).

Yididia Abebe

Maid of Honor

Dorcas and Yididia met in Biology class during her freshman year. Yididia used to sit at the back of the class whereas Dorcas sat in front. One day Dorcas deduced from Yididia's facial features that she might be from East Africa, possibly Ethiopia. She then went to talk to her. Turns out she was right. A new friendship began and, later on, they decided to be roommates.

Samuel Hinckley

Groomsman

Sam will be the first to tell you that he’s an acquired taste, but those who push past first impressions know that it is rare to find a more loyal, wise, and generous friend. Taz is so grateful for the two years they spent as the two Baptist residents of a Methodist ministry house. And if you don’t know, now you know.

Bénita Agouna-Déciat

Bridesmaid

Dorcas and Bénita met through family connections. Bénita's aunt used to babysit Dorcas when she was younger. The first time they met was when Dorcas was having her hair braided. Not much talking was made that day because they were both shy. Nevertheless, they grew closer through the African Students Union at Dallas Baptist University.

Andrew Cloeter

Groomsman

Andrew and Taz share a passion for the finer things in life, like a good book after a nice run. His love of classic Russian novels inspired him to pursue a communist takeover of the pair’s community group, and since then, the trains have always run on time. Taz really values their friendship and the unique perspectives that Andrew brings to the table.

Kenean Bekele

Bridesmaid

Back at home, an East and West African might have had insurmountable differences. But in a freshman chemistry class at DBU, friends can come from the most unlikely places. Soon, Dorcas and Kenean were serving together as leaders in the African Students Union. Meanwhile, she has become an integral part of Dorcas and Taz's 4th of July celebrations for the past two years.

Caleb Abernathy

Groomsman

Taz never thought he’d meet a history nerd that was on his level, but Caleb is a true contender. The two could talk for way too long about the intricacies woven throughout major world events of the past and present. In many ways, Caleb is also the glue of community group, and Taz can’t imagine their friend group without him, even if he did go to Baylor...

Secnatou Ouedraogo

Bridesmaid

Secnatou and Dorcas met in Burkina Faso and she was one of Dorcas's first friends. With her enthusiastic personality, Secnatou welcomed her with open arms. They have many memories together that will always be treasured..

Matt Laitkep

Groomsman

Matt is one of the most grounded and levelheaded people that Taz knows. He excels at processing information and responding to every situation in a thoughtful, considered way. Everyone in the community group can count on him and Taz is glad that he has someone to do a spartan handshake with.

Moyinoluwalogo Adjibade

Bridesmaid

Dorcas and Moyin met through a mutual friend at church. They were both doing First Baptist Dallas' discipleship program and got to know each other over the course of several post-worship lunches. Moyin is from Nigeria and is currently studying Nursing. They are both looking forward to making more memories together.

Chase Mott

Groomsman

One thing Taz needs in his life is someone he can talk theology with. Thankfully, he has Chase. Covering topics like eschatology, christolgy and hermeneutics, their conversations are epic in scope, but always grounded by the pair’s passion for the gospel. Taz loves having a man with a heart like Chase’s in the community group.

Mahima Baburaj

Bridesmaid

Dorcas and Mahima met the first day of school at Dallas Baptist University. Although shy, Dorcas somehow felt led to talk and wait upon Mahima as she was finishing up her paperwork. That was the beginning of an awesome friendship. They then became roomies and did life together.

Victor Yellowe

Groomsman

When Dorcas introduced Taz to her MCAT study partner, Victor, little did she suspect that the two of them would develop a fast friendship through their easy rapport and similar senses of humor. The two have bonded over long conversations about topics as diverse as politics, healthcare and Wizards of Waverly Place.

Micah Watt

Bridesmaid

Dorcas and Micah met at the cafeteria of Dallas Baptist University during her freshman year. They would see each other every morning during breakfast. Dorcas initially thought that Micah did not like her because she would pass by without saying hello. In a hilarious twist, it turned out that, because Dorcas used to change her hairstyle so often, Micah often did not recognize her. Since then their friendship has grown.

Maci Crawford

Flower Girl

Maci Tatum Crawford, 9 years old was born and raised in Roswell, NM. Maci is the daughter of Tanner and Tillie Crawford and second cousin to Tazman. Maci loves to learn and write short stories and is currently in the 3rd grade. She enjoys activities like drawing, soccer, basketball, softball and most recently ballet. She loves the outdoors; riding her bike, skating, and riding her go-cart with her two older sisters. When Maci grows up she would like to write and illustrate her own book series.

Bereket Daniel Abebe

Ring Bearer

Bereket Daniel Abebe, 9 year old born in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia and lived in the U.S. since he was 4 years old. Bereket is the little brother of Dorcas’ Maid of honor. Bereket and Dorcas have a special bond ever since they met and in some ways he is like a little brother to her as well. He is currently in the 3rd grade. Bereket is very active and enjoys playing soccer, riding his scooter and watching movies.
