Things To Do

Duquesne Incline

Duquesne Incline

1220 Grandview Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15211

The Duquesne Incline, opened in 1877, is one of Pittsburgh’s historic cable cars — originally built to carry workers up and down Mount Washington and now a beloved landmark offering stunning views of the city skyline. This address takes you to the top of Mount Washington, where you can park, soak in the view, and either ride the incline down and back up or simply enjoy the breathtaking overlook. It’s just $5 per person round trip (cash only!), so be prepared, or the sweet Italian ladies running the booth might give you an earful.

Point State Park

Point State Park

Point State Park sits right where Pittsburgh’s three rivers meet, offering some of the best views in the city. It’s a beautiful spot for a stroll, a picnic, or to snap a photo by the iconic fountain. Whether you’re taking in the skyline or just relaxing by the water, it’s a must-visit while you’re in town.

The North Shore is the perfect spot to soak up the best of Pittsburgh! You can stroll along the riverfront, grab a drink at one of the many bars and restaurants, or catch a Pirates game at PNC Park. Don’t miss the beautiful city views from the bridges or stopping by the Mister Roger's Statue. For activities, the Kamin Science Center and Rivers Casino are a few blocks away.

Strip District

Strip District

Pittsburgh, PA

Whether it's walking down Penn Avenue looking through all the old Italian markets and sidewalk sports vendors or exploring stores The Terminal, the Strip District is one of our favorite places in the city to explore. For food and drink, we especially love Allegheny Coffee & Tea Exchange, Pennsylvania Macaroni Co, Novo Asian Food Hall, Aslin Beer, Coop De Ville, and Cinderlands Warehouse. For activities, we love the Heinz History Center and Putt Shack.

Lawrenceville

Lawrenceville

Pittsburgh, PA 15201

Lawrenceville was our first Pittsburgh neighborhood and will always have a special place in our hearts! It’s a super walkable area packed with great restaurants, cozy coffee shops, and fun local bars. Whether you’re grabbing brunch, shopping at local boutiques, or bar-hopping along Butler Street, it’s the perfect place to spend an afternoon exploring. Our favorite places are Espresso A Mano, Wildcard, The Parlor Dim Sum, Walter's BBQ, Over Eden, 11th Hour Brewing, and Pusadee's Garden.

Oakland

Oakland

4200 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15260

Oakland is home the University of Pittsburgh and the iconic Cathedral of Learning, a must-see landmark that towers over the city. Take a drive or stroll through Schenley Park, and if time allows, wander through the gorgeous Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens or Carnegie Museum of Natural History. When hunger strikes, grab a bite at The Porch, a local favorite known for its fresh, seasonal dishes. To end the night, head just a few minutes up to East Liberty and pop into Commerce Bar, a cozy speakeasy serving up some of the best cocktails in town.
