Donnie and I first met in 2014 when starting ... Nick got distracted by football and starting yelling at the Navy vs. Notre Dame game (dramatic)... Donnie here...I made it out of the friend zone! When we first started grad school, I admit, I thought Nick was hot as heck and I flirted hard. Alas, I was put into the friend zone and we became "best" friends. However, I like a little challenge (so I was not to be deterred by rebuttals!) , and three years later, thousands of miles under our feet, and a joint banking account, we are getting married! It's safe to say that I played the game well...The sweetest, kindest, and most caring man that I've ever met loves me right back. My best friend. Nick here! When we tell people that we are getting married in Ireland, we always get the question “why Ireland?”. The short answer: no particular reason other than the fact that Ireland is the bomb! We wanted to do a small, intimate wedding with just family and close friends and figured that with a smaller group we could pull off a destination wedding. I’ve been to Ireland before in college where I spent 10 days exploring the western edge of the country and had a blast. It’s arguably the easiest country to reach and travel within in Europe so we figured it would be a solid spot to have guests visit and celebrate with us. Donnie has always had an interest in visiting as well, so what an amazing way to spend her first visit by getting married there! When I was on my trip in college, we spent a night in Galway, Ireland a smaller city on the western coast. I had arguably the most fun night of my life pub hopping, listening to local folk music, and interacting with the tremendously friendly local Irishman. We can’t wait to enjoy the downtown Galway and the Ireland countryside with you all!
