FAQs

We are working with our wedding planner, our venue, and all of our vendors to ensure the highest level of safety. We love each and every one of our guests, and the safety of you and your families is our priority.
Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP by April 15, 2021 so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

At this point in our lives we have most of what we need. The two things that we need most are a honeymoon and a down payment on a home. There's nowhere to register for that, so instead we have a "Registry" tab on this very website. Visit this tab if you'd like to contribute.

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal attire.

Question

What will the weather in Jacksonville be like in May?

Answer

Florida in May is hot and humid. There is typically a brief rain shower at some point in the day. Other than that expect sun and humidity.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and reception are both taking place indoors. We love the weather in Florida, which is why we’re glad the event will be 100% air conditioned. Thank heavens!

Question

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

We have a free shuttle that is available for all wedding guests. It will leave from the Sheraton Five Points Jacksonville Beachfront to the wedding venue at 6pm. There is ample public parking for wedding guests who are not staying at the hotel, including a public parking lot across the street, and another two blocks north.

Question

I want to take the free shuttle to the venue, but how do I get home?

Answer

For those who choose to get to the venue on the free shuttle, you can get back to the hotel the same way. Starting at 10pm, the first shuttle will be leaving the wedding venue and returning to the Sheraton Five Points Jacksonville Beachfront. After that, the shuttle will be making multiple trips to and from the venue to the hotel. The final shuttle will leave the wedding venue for the hotel at midnight.

Question

What if I want to drive to the wedding?

Answer

If you’d like to drive to the wedding, the address is 303 North Laura Street, Jacksonville, Fl. 32202. Street parking is free on the weekend so there should be no problem finding a spot. There's also the Duval Street Parking Garage, and the entrance is located at 33 W Duval Street. The garage knows about the wedding so just let them know that's why your there and you can park for free.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones, but our wedding ceremony and reception is going to be an adults-only event. That way everyone can relax and enjoy the evening – even our friends who are parents. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Question

Can I take and post pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

Please do not take any photos during the ceremony. We have hired a photographer and videographer so we can always remember this magical night, and they require that guests not take pictures during the ceremony since this is disruptive to the photographer's and videographer's process.

Question

OK so I can't take pictures during the ceremony... can I take and post pictures during the reception?

Answer

Absolutely! Take as many as you want. If you want to post them to social media you can use #crossmeyersfam so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Our wedding is RSVP only. We will accommodate those listed on the RSVP you sent us. If you did not list a guest on your RSVP, please contact Duncan or Donna ASAP if you need to make a change. Any change involves adjustments in seating, food, and other accommodations.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures for about an hour. Guests can head straight to the library atrium for the cocktail hour where we will be serving passed appetizers and beverages.

Question

Will food and drinks be served at the reception?

Answer

Food and drinks will be served. We are looking forward to breaking bread with y’all!

Question

Will there be any vegetarian / vegan / gluten free / special diet options?

Answer

We have planned vegetarian dishes and appetizers based on the number of RSVPs that requested a vegetarian meal. At the moment we have not received any requests for vegan, gluten-free, or other restricted diets. If you need any of these special options please contact Donna or Duncan (duncandonna2020@gmail.com).

Question

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

The Jacksonville Public Library is wheelchair accessible. The ceremony and reception are on the second floor, the cocktail hour will be held in the first-floor atrium, and both of these floors can be accessed with the library's elevator.

Question

Are you having a brunch on Sunday?

Answer

We decided not to have a brunch the day after the wedding. One of our hopes is that friends and family would take this opportunity to do something fun in Jacksonville, whether it is brunch-related, getting some more beach time, or whatever else strikes your fancy.

Question

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

Answer

If you have additional questions, please contact us at duncandonna2020@gmail.com.
