We ask that you please RSVP by responding on the website or returning the addressed envelope in the invitation no later than April 15th. We have had a color-coded spreadsheet since the day we started planning, so we will be tracking responses accordingly!
To make it easiest on us and our guest, we have chosen to have our wedding ceremony and reception both at Boone Hall. The Ceremony will take place on the front lawn of the property and the cocktail hour / reception will be a short walk under the beautiful Spanish Moss to the Cotton Dock. There will be a golf cart to help transport our guests requiring assistance to the Cotton Dock from the ceremony.
We will be serving alcohol at the cocktail hour + reception, therefore we encourage our guests to either plan a designated driver ahead of the event or utilize ride share options like Uber and Lyft. There is a large parking lot on the property where those who choose to drive can park - free of charge! The designated Uber / Lyft pickup area is also located next to the parking lot. When arriving on the property, there will be an attendant at the gate. Please let the attendant know that you are a guest of the Maddox + Kays wedding, and they will wave you through. Please note, there will be zero tolerance for drinking + driving. If you chose to drive to the event and later realize that you are in no shape to get home, we do have an agreement with the venue that you can leave your car in the parking lot overnight and retrieve it the next morning. When you come to get your car, please let the gate attendant know that you were at the wedding the night before and they will wave you through.
We understand that a late-June wedding in the low country of South Carolina will be HOT. For that reason, we will have air conditioning in the reception location and the dance floor will be on a dock where the summer breeze will hopefully keep things cooler. We encourage all guests to hydrate thoroughly in the days leading up to the wedding and recommend dressing in lighter colors and materials like linen to help keep our guests cool.
