Our short answer is "we met at church." But for the sake of sharing how God does exactly what He wants, we'll provide more details. God led Dom to ONE church in LA after randomly stumbling across a Youtube video by Pastor Sarah Jakes Roberts. That video led to other videos, and one being an invitation to attend ONE Meet-Up event on 10/16/2021. Dom hadn't been to church in years and the event was exactly what she needed and didn't even know it. God told Dom to continue to show up. Dom went to other Meet-Up events at ONE until they opened for ongoing Sunday services on Easter of 2022. In May 2022, while sitting in the Sanctuary, God said "SERVE". Then there was an announcement about serving along with a QR code to sign up. Dom signed up. Months later, Dom received an email from someone named Sammi Johnson, asking if there was still interest in joining the Service Support ministry. Wanting to say "no" because she was in the midst of directing a short film, and totally forgetting what God said, Dom took a day to respond. The Holy Spirit quickly reminded Dom "SERVE", and it was loud. Sammi sent Dom a text message and asked if she had 5 minutes to speak about shadowing during the upcoming service. The 5 minutes turned into 25 minutes of laughter and ease. That Sunday, 11/6/2022, Dom arrived early to service and asked for Sammi (though she had a knowing of who he was). She introduced herself as "Dom, short for Dominique" Sammi paused, looked at her and said, " exactly how I imagined you." In true Dom fashion, she avoided being awkward by making a joke; acknowledging that her fashion was bold with her wide brim fedora and a colorful skirt. He smiled, complimented the outfit, and introduced her to the team, who began training her. After church, Dom celebrated her first day of serving at church, with her good friend Briana (B Mor), at Bossa Nova. In the midst of enjoying the food, Dom said, "B, I keep seeing this man and I don't know why God is highlighting him to me." B Mor inquisitively said, "Who"? When Dom said "Sammi", B Mor, like Dom, knew exactly who he was. B Mor smiled, picked up her lemonade and said "maybe he's your husband." Dom looked at B Mor like she was crazy. B Mor continued, "you often ask God for eyes to see. Maybe you're seeing him because you know him. Oftentimes, you meet in the spirit then in the natural" Dom laughed in disbelief, saying "Girl, I do not know that man." However, B Mor was serious. She advised Dom to speak to God and ask "God, if this man is from you, have him pursue me." Dom took the conversation back to God, saying the words B Mor gave. God did not linger nor delay. The following week (11/13/2022), to their surprise, Sammi shared that he was attracted to her. Throughout the next two hours, they shared a few laughs and some small talk about their personal missions and purposes. Later, Dom shared the details with B Mor, who was over the moon excited. However, Dom was clear that there was not a pursuit in the interaction, and did not share the same level of thrill. The next day, Dom woke up after having a dream about Sammi. Not able to remember the details of the dream but knowing that Sammi was there, she prayed again. This time she wrote, "God who is this Sammi Johnson and who is he to me? If he is from you, have him pursue and teach me how to respond to the pursuit. If he is not from you, show me and remove any desires that are creeping in my spirit." An hour later, Sammi text Dom to inquire about how everything went on the set of her film project which she'd asked the team to pray for. Dom shared her excitement regarding the turnout, and about Sammi's interest in her work. Then... there was the PURSUIT. 11/14/2022 Sammi: Would you be interested in hanging out? Dom: I am.

On 4/27/2023, there was a revival at ONE church. It was beautiful and powerful, at the same time. Filled with the spirit and wanting to continue fellowshipping, Sammi, Dom, and a few friends went to a late dinner, at Bossa Nova. The crew went around the table sharing what stood out to them the most, from the service, and their breakthroughs. Then the married men, our friends, Brian and Joe, began speaking about unions and the life as a husband (through their experience), and the moments God pulled on their hearts to marry their wives. As the conversation was flowing, Sammi took Dom's hand, who was sitting across the table from him. He gently rubbed her hands as she gathered her attention to his eye gaze. As the table was engrossed in the conversation, Sammi allowed words to flow from his heart. Those around the table become aware of the intimate conversation and paused their thoughts to be present in Sam and Dom's moment. Sammi asked Dom if she would marry him. She said "of course." In the spontaneity of it all, there was joy, laughter, and a lot of "What just happened?" God is forming a union, and it's happening on November 15, 2023!
