Richmond Recommendations

We are excited to share a few of our favorite places in Richmond with you! Make sure to check back for an updated list as we continue to explore the area.

American Civil War Museum

480 Tredegar Street, Richmond, VA 23219
, (804) 649-1861

The Historic Tredegar site is home to two galleries for exhibits and has over 500 artifacts on display. The museum recommends you set aside 2 hours to view the exhibits, but Dominic recommends at least 8.

Virginia Museum of Fine Arts

200 North Arthur Ashe Boulevard, Richmond, VA 23220
, (804) 340-1400

The museum houses a permanent collection of more than 40,000 works of art that span over 6,000 years. One of their most popular and rare permanent collections is the collection of Faberge & Russian decorative art, which is the largest public collection outside Russia.

Maymont Garden

1000 Westover Road, Richmond, VA 23220

Visit the historic Maymont estate and explore the various gardens, including the Japanese Garden, Italian Garden and Arboretum! You can also visit their wildlife exhibits while there. We'd recommend bringing a picnic blanket for an impromptu lunch. Admission is free, but donations are accepted.

Belle Isle State Park

Richmond, VA

Take a leisurely stroll along the water at Belle Isle State Park.

WPA Bakery

3414 Semmes Avenue, Richmond, VA 23225
, (804) 477-6449

WPA is the perfect spot for a drip coffee fanatic! They don't offer much in the way of specialty coffee options, AKA the coffee Jackie drinks, but the caneles are to die for. We definitely recommend you try one... or two... or ten...

Sugar & Twine

2928 West Cary Street, Richmond, VA 23221
, (804) 204-1755

Tons of delicious coffee options, freshly baked pastries and sandwiches... what's not to love about Sugar & Twine? The Bride and Groom would especially recommend the sausage breakfast croissant and cinnamon scone.

The Quirk Coffee Bar

201 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23220
, (804) 340-6040

If you're staying near the Renaissance, we'd recommend getting some coffee at The Quirk. They have a beautiful lobby area where you can enjoy your coffee, or you can take it outside to their patio!

Lunch & Supper

1215 Summit Ave., Richmond, VA 23230
, 804-353-0111

If you're looking to play some giant jenga or cornhole while sipping on a mimosa, this is the brunch spot for you! Lunch & Supper serves delicious southern-style fixings with some of the best white gravy you've ever had. It fills up quick, so we recommend calling ahead.

J KOGI

325 N 2nd St., Richmond, VA 23219
, 804-225-8734

J KOGI is an artsy dining spot serving Korean street eats, from made-to-order kimbap to kimchi pancakes. The bulgogi kimbap and fried dumplings are to die for, and trust us when we say the spicy mustard sauce is very, very spicy!

The Circuit Arcade Bar

3121 West Leigh Street, Richmond, VA 23230

CAB features classic console games like Mortal Kombat and PacMan, multi-player sports games such as skeeball and air hockey, and elaborate vintage pinball machines. They serve craft beers, ciders, and wines on tap, with around 50 different selections available at any given time.
