Classic Meeting Story

Nashville, The City Of Love

Dom let me write this section. November 13th, 2021. It wasn't the best of times, it wasn't the worst of times. In fact, it was a pretty standard Saturday. We owe the story of us meeting to our 2 dear friends, Blanche and Bryce Wasserman. I was dragging myself from Atlanta to Nashville for what I figured would be a guys’ weekend. Dom was heading to Tennessee for what she thought was a girls’ trip. But the universe loves timing more than subtlety. And somehow, it was Bryce, the friend who I was meeting in person for the first time that very day, who ended up giving me the unassuming shove into the arms of the love of my life. Depending on which party you ask- it was either love at first sight OR I came on a ~skooch~ too strong. One of the first things I ever told Dom was "I love you we should get married." Nailed it. Naturally she was hesitant, but ultimately we found out what happens when an unstoppable force- a stubborn Italian- meets an immovable object- another stubborn Italian. November 13th, 2021 was the day we met, and the last day we ever went without talking- something neither of us intended to start in Nashville and a streak that will never end. From that quick weekend in Nashville, we agreed that on my road trip I would stop by Dallas for another quick weekend to see if we could nurture that initial spark into a larger flame. That quick weekend visit to Dallas wound up being 10 days. It felt like we had just met- yet like we had been doing this forever. The simultaneously quick yet slow and steady realization that the world felt more like home with each other in it. We cherish and joke about those early days often. Since then we have accomplished quite a bit- seeing the northern lights in Alaska, the beaches in California, wide open skies in Texas, Maine in the fall when the trees are exploding with color, and.....Butte. Many of those trips to celebrate the start of a lifelong partnership for loved ones of ours, but this time it's on our (blue) turf. A lifetime of happiness, meals, laughter, dancing, and family awaits us. Thanks for reading this
