While we love your little ones, our wedding is an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making childcare arrangements ahead of time so you can celebrate with us.
We recommend booking your accommodations as soon as possible due to the Michigan State football game at Ford Field the day of our wedding. Checkout the Travel section of this website for hotel options and blocks.
This was the hardest discussion between Megan and Kevin. It lasted around 4 minutes. Megan wanted black tie and Kevin didn't want to have to tuck in his shirt. They compromised on formal, though Megan is still trying to get Kevin to agree to black tie. For men, a suit and tie is required for our venue. For women, please wear a long dress or dressy cocktail attire. Once the dancing starts, no rules apply.
Yes, our ceremony will be taking place in Grosse Pointe, MI and our reception and other events will be held in Detroit, MI. Location information and schedule are located on the "Schedule" tab of this website.
Organized transportation will not be provided for our wedding. For those staying in downtown Detroit, see below for additional travel information to the ceremony and reception venues. Ceremony: The church is a 20 minute drive from downtown Detroit in Megan's hometown of Grosse Pointe Woods. The exact address is located in the Schedule section of this site. Free parking will be available on the street and in the parking lot behind the church. For those without a vehicle, ride share services are widely available throughout metro Detroit. Reception: This is the easy one! The Detroit Athletic Club is within walking distance of the hotels recommended in the Travel section.
After Glow = bowling! The DAC has a bowling alley located in the basement, AKA The Abbey. The after party will begin there at Midnight and is totally optional. We understand it's late (Kevin will likely be sleeping, but Megan will keep the party going). Beer and wine will be served. Bowling shoes and balls will be provided if you decide to bowl, or just come and hang out for multiple night caps.
Zola didn't have a Detroit background and we met in Chicago, so it works.
Valet parking will be available at The DAC - and the cost will be covered!
Due to limited space, we can only accommodate the guest(s) who have been formally invited on your wedding invitation. We appreciate your understanding!
