Fundraising for our charity ride!
Dodam and Kate both rode from our home in SSF to Malibu in the California Coast Classic from Sept 10-17th to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation. Total mileage in the saddle was 405mi (652km!). Kate has rheumatoid arthritis and Dodam has been her steadfast supporter as she got her official diagnosis and started treatment. On our first date, Dodam would squeeze Kate's limes and open her water bottles when her fingers hurt. He also heroically takes more backpack weight to reduce impact on her knees and feet during flares. Kate was so grateful for Dodam's support during flareup days during the ride. Drafting and even a push up a hill, but most of all, emotional support, really helped when she was seriously struggling with fatigue. The fundraising goal is steep- $3500 each! Please help us reach our fundraising goal. This was our last big trip before tying the knot :)
