Brian and Jon joined the same lab in the 17th grade, I mean grad school. They have been inseparable ever since! They even joined a startup together! Jon couldn’t imagine doing his PhD without him. If Jon had a brother, he would count himself lucky if it were Brian.

Chelsea and Laura are high school best friends. They’ve both moved all around the country since high school, but they always make time to see each other when they happen to be in the same part of the world.

Gaby and Jon joined grad school together and were also roommates for three years! They particularly enjoy hiking, wine, and dessert adventures! Jon credits his friendship with Gaby for making him a more empathetic and overall better man.

Shannon and Laura met their freshman year of college and were roommates every year after that. They maintain their long distance friendship by obsessing over all the latest Taylor Swift fan theories.

Dan and Jon met when Jon did a pre-orientation program called SustainabLehigh at Lehigh University. Dan convinced Jon that at least one fraternity wasn't all that bad and later Dan became Jon's "Big". Jon not only sees Dan as a cherished friend, but also a fabulous mentor.

Erin and Laura also met their freshman year of college and were roommates for the rest of their time at Lehigh. They love to swap recipes, but Laura misses the days when she could just eat the results of Erin’s stress baking!

Brittany and Jon joined grad school together and were also roommates for two years. There are few days that Jon, Brittany, and Gaby are not sharing thoughts over chat. Jon can always rely on Brittany for fun adventures! Jon also credits his friendship with Brittany for making him a more empathetic and overall better man.

Caroline joined Laura, Shannon, and Erin as their fourth roommate in their senior year of college. Their love for each other is only rivaled by Caroline’s love for Dunkin’.
Carl

Carl is Laura's brother. Jon particularly enjoys hanging out with Carl around a fire, having a beer, and sharing stories until well after sunset. Jon is absolutely sure that if they lived near each other, they’d go on plenty of bike rides and hikes! Jon would have a hard time keeping up! Jon can't wait to have a brother!

When Laura moved to Seattle, Brenna took a leap of faith and picked her as a random roommate off of Craigslist. They ended up becoming close friends, and since they moved into separate apartments, they still make plenty of time for each other and like to catch up over a glass of wine.

Kelly and Jon both joined the same lab together in 2015. Kelly was one of Jon’s rocks throughout grad school. They both share a love for our natural world, biking, electrochemistry, and a good time with friends. Jon gives lots of credit to Kelly for helping him maintain his sanity while writing their thesis together over Zoom.

Ceci was also one of Laura’s roommates when she first moved to Seattle. They bonded over their houseplant collections and dance classes.
