Our Story

Dan and Alex first met on the green grass of Washington Park. When Alex’s friend Ramya introduced her to the group, the world seemed to narrow down to a single person. As they played volleyball, the attraction was immediate and mutual: Dan was captivated by Alex’s wit and the effortless way she threw shade at the "weakest links" in the game. Alex, meanwhile, was distracted by his biceps 😍 and did her best to ignore his douchebag sunglasses. 👎 They spent the evening in a careful dance of "accidental" precision - snagging seats next to each other at dinner, debating music at the bar, and finally, zipping through the Denver streets on a shared scooter. After a week of falling headlong into something that felt life-changing, Dan realized the timing was a whirlwind. Because they were falling so fast while life was so loud, Dan made a difficult, honest call: they needed to "take a beat." He knew Alex was someone worth doing things right for, even if that meant slowing down. After Alex arrived at his place for an evening together, Dan expressed his concern to Alex, and she reluctantly agreed, and listened to "No Choice" by Fly by Midnight on repeat. From there, they wandered the Santa Fe Art Walk, shared tacos, and kicked a soccer ball until long after the sun went down. Then came a ten-week period of patience. Alex stayed in the periphery, a constant light in the distance, while Dan cleared the path for their future. When he finally reached back out, it wasn't just a reconnection; it was a realization that the road was always meant to be shared with her. When the two finally reunited, they did so with a shared vow: to see as much of this world as possible. In less than four years, they have crossed oceans and borders together - Japan, New Zealand, Canada, Fiji, and Guatemala. Their life is one of constant movement. When they aren't boarding a flight, they are found where the earth meets the sky: at a Red Rocks show (eleven and counting), snowboarding through fresh powder, or camping under the stars. They believe in the work of a relationship and the work of a life; they stay fit and stay fast, knowing that to care for oneself is the first step in caring for each other. By May 2025, the air felt different. Despite a "spoiler" text from Alex’s dummy brother and Dan’s suspiciously crisp shirt, the moment at Red Rocks remained timeless. Before Dan could even get the question out, Alex saw the future they had built and answered, "Yes," as soon as Dan's knee hit the ground. They say that in the woods, two roads diverge, but Dan and Alex found a way to carve a new one entirely. It isn’t a path of least resistance, but one of high peaks, shared sweat, and the deliberate choice to keep pace with one another. From the red rocks of Colorado to the far corners of the map, they’ve learned that the best view isn't just the horizon they’re chasing, but the person walking steady beside them. The world is wide, and the miles are many, but they are ready to travel them all together.
