She has been there for Dominique through thick and thin and they formed a bond that could never be broken. Raina holds a very special place in Dominique's heart and her loving, caring nature and vibrant energy always shines through. Dominique feels extremely blessed to have someone like Raina in her life.

WOW! Shana and Dominique go WAAAAAYYYY back to freshman year at Immaculate Heart High School in 1998. That sounds like forever. Dominique remembers Mia vividly as a little girl and now she has evolved into a wonderful, intelligent woman. She is Joel's cousin and the one who accompanied Dominique and Joel on their first date at the movies. She has been the potential glue to their magical love that all started while watching, " Finding Nemo" in 2003. Dominique will always be one of Mia's biggest fans and supporter! Frances was there for Dominique since her first day of Residency - 7/2014. Their first memorable shift was working night float at Harlem Hospital while Dominique was 8 months pregnant. Those were long brutal nights. That is just one of a thousand crazy days and nights they shared together. They survived together, stronger than ever at the end. Those years were probably Dominique's most challenging periods she has experienced thus far in her life. She spent that time with Frances by her side, every step of the way. She has been someone who Dominique can always count on. Thank you Frances!

Meena is someone who if Dominique ever needs anything, she knows she can ALWAYS count of Meena. They have a relationship and special bond which started back in medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2006. They were inseparable, enjoyed life and explored Mexico together to say the very least. Meena and Dominique always took care of each other while abroad, even through the Swine Flu (that was crazy), and had a blast every chance they got. Meena always made sure the parties and late game nights had a ton of food and drinks to go around. Dominique and Meena survived medical school together and to this very day are still the best of friends. Meena is also the loving God Mother to Dominique and Joel's first son, Luke!

Brittney (Joel's Sister)...is Dominique's true sister! They have so many cherished moments together since the very beginning. They clicked immediately and have shared in laughter and tears. They have spent long nights just up talking about life and yes guess who - Joel! Gotta love the long bathroom nights in Casinos as well. Needless to say, all these moments very special and unforgettable times. Dominique looks forward to growing in sisterly love with Brittney! She is a beautiful person in and out and Dominique feels extremely blessed to call her family and a sister.

Sitti has been a very special person to Dominique and Joel. They have been very close over the last several years and have spent a lot of fun, quality time together! Their most memorable times - long nights at the MGM casino in Maryland thanks to those undeniable long island drinks, and house parties in Virginia every weekend that lasted until early morning. They had what you would call, "some long, hard nights", lol! She has been an important key to Dominique and Joel's journey - always lending a helping hand and there when you need her. She is an awesome friend and also has a very caring and loving heart.

Andrea and Dominique go all the back to good 'ol college days at USF! Those were the days! Andrea and Dominique, have had so many adventures in San Francisco, and also Los Angeles, from the In-N-Out late night trips, to driving around in the white Pontiac Grand AM in SF, driving up the Lone Mountain Hill, cooking in the apartment and watching the Brothers movie over and over again. Andrea, has been with Dominique through the ups and downs, the happy and sad times. She has been a special part of Dominique's family as well and will always will be!

Daimon Watson is Joel’s big brother. He’s been a protector, guider and overall positive influence on Joel his entire life. Their mother and father instilled in them the importance of family and keeping God at the head of their household. This has formed an unbreakable bond between the two and has made them both great men of God, fathers to the children and husbands to their wives.

As Joel's college roommate and cooking competitor, he couldn't have asked for a better friend. He has always been there with a word of encouragement for Joel but also Joel's mothers self proclaimed angel. Joel's mother and sister were in a car accident on I-85 in Atlanta. Patrick passed by the accident and THOUGHT he saw Joel's mother. He turned around to check and it was. He was able to be an arm of support and comfort during that time of need. Joel is forever grateful to have Patrick as a friend.

Christian Confer is one of Joel's best friends. They have had several interesting nights in Pensacola, Las Vegas, and they've taken on many other cities. They've often sat at one of Joel's favorites restaurants in Pensacola McGuires and had an Irish Wake or 2 with a side of amazing conversations. Chris is one of the premier chefs in Pensacola and he is an amazing father as well. Joel admires the strength and dedication that Chris shows with his son.

As a college classmate and a person that would always be at the Joel's apartment back in college, these two were destined to form a life long relationship. They've made some amazing memories from parties at ASU, to trips to Las Vegas to just chilling his backyard BBQ'n some chicken. Joel admires CJ's sense of calmness and humor. Cj is also the Godfather of Joel's eldest son Luke. He is an amazing man of God and a great family man.

Joel's cousin Aaron is an amazing person all the way around. They share some amazing memories. While in college, they once went to New Orleans in the black mustang with $24 to their name to go see Joel's Grandma Hazel. When they got there, they had a room at the Ritz Carlton and front row tickets to the Essence Festival. When Joel is in Pensacola, they enjoy meeting up at McGuire's having a Raspberry wheat beer, bean soup and great conversation. Aaron owns a top law firm in Florida and continues to do the work that God called him to do.

Robert and Joel started out as co workers from Cox communications back in Pensacola Florida but formed a lifelong friendship. They've had amazing times all the way from Pensacola FL to Washington D.C.. Most recently they shared memorable nights at their spot MGM casino in the National Harbor. Robert is a man that you can trust and always has a plan. A great friend indeed.

Joel's good friend Donte Shepherd is truly an amazing man. He has always been a listening ear and also one that keeps it real with Joel. When Joel comes to Pensacola, you can find him at McGuire's sitting at a table with Donte, Chris and Aaron catching up and sharing new and old stories. Donte has a gift in public speaking and touching the youth of the community in Pensacola Florida. He is a dedicated husband and son of God.

Joel's cousin Brian played a vital role in this match made in heaven. Him and his sister Mia were the buffers on Joel and Dominique's first date. Joel and Dominique sat apart with Brian, Mia, movie snacks and ICEE's between them. Brian was 3 back then but has now matured into an amazing young Morehouse man. He is also one of the most dishonest UNO players in the world. All love cuzzo :)

Cedric Lane "Ced" has been a friend to Joel since 2002 dorm life "Card Hall and Benson Tower" at Alabama State. Their friendship expanded when both of them moved off campus in 2003. Joel has always admired Ced's Detroit upfront characteristics. In college, the two of them were riding to McDonald's in Ced's Monte Carlo. They are pulled over and the police officer says "license and registration please". Ced's reply was "why the hell did you pull us over" and I told Ced " I think that was rhetorical statement from the officers".
Nicco Denton

Nicco "Mo" and Joel have been friends since high school pottery class where they nicknamed their teacher Mr. Luigi and deemed him having the smelliest breath in Pensacola. Mo and Joel have been there for each other through good times and bad times always with a listening ear and realistic perspective keeping each other at bay. After high school, Mo served his country in the Navy which Joel has always respected.
