The Wedding Website of Divya Sreenivasan and Kishan Patel
Meet our people! We would not be where we are today without the support from all of these wonderful humans! PS The picture above is us waving to everyone that watched our home ceremony live on Instagram!

Priya

Maid of Honor

Oh boy, where to start with this one? My younger sister and I have the most typical sibling relationship. I took advantage of my older sibling status when we were young but it soon took a turn- for anyone who knows Pri, will know that she can no longer be bossed around. I’ll gladly take credit for developing her extra thick skin because she will fight tooth and nail for anything and anyone she believes in. Thank goodness she believes in me! [I hope ;)] We’ve loved each other even when we’ve 'disliked' one another and I would be nothing without her. I cannot imagine getting married without her by my side!

Kunal

Best Man

Kunal is my little brother, and it is common for most people to think we are twins. To clarify, we are not twins and I am older. When you get us together, you will only hear sarcasm or Divya's "favorite", a medicine related discussion. We have a lot of the same interests like the Carolina Panthers, Naruto, watching anime, and Halo (basically we are the same person). Kunal is the one person I can always rely on and I would not be where I am today without him. Kunal is currently completing his medical residency at NYU and I could not be any more proud of him. I will definitely need him by my side on the big day to keep me sane.

Reena

Maid of Honor

Our families say Reen and I were attached at the hip from the moment we could grab each others hair and scream. We loved to correct our family when they would refer to us as ‘best friends’….we’re cousins people! Truth be told, (don’t tell her) but Reen was my very first best friend. We’ve sent endless amounts of snail mail filled with all our life updates until email came into existence. She (im)patiently sent emails multiple times a day until I finally got a cell phone. We’ve kept each others secrets, walked one another through hardships and laughed our way through just about everything. I cannot wait to add this day to our repertoire of memories.

Favio

Groomsman

Favio is my oldest childhood friend. We have been friends since the 7th grade. He hasn't changed one bit from back then. He is still a nerd, which is probably why we got along so well. We played a lot of video games together, watched Naruto, rode our bikes around the neighborhood, and played basketball/football/soccer. I'd say I had a healthy balance of indoor and outdoor time because of this kid. When we are together, we always revert back to our middle school selves. I'm so thankful to have been able to grow up with him but am slightly more grateful he introduced me to Super Smash.

April

Bridesmaid

My journey with April started at my first official “big girl job” at Banfield Hospital. I arrived bright eyed and bushy tailed on my very first day for training. Little did I know I was going to meet someone that would put my “bright eyed bushy tailed” attitude to shame. April is the bubbliest, sweetest and most genuine soul I have ever met. She took me under her wing and taught me everything she knew. Years went by, we each got new jobs and settled into our own lives but were reunited by chance again at Labcorp! This time I was her “senior” and was lucky enough to show her some of the ropes! Though it had been awhile we picked up as though no time had passed at all. I am so grateful to have reconnected with this gem of a soul and am so happy to share our wedding day with her!

Ryan

Groomsman

Ryan was the kind of kid that only wore shorts. All year long. I'm pretty sure he only figured out what pants were in college. I met Ryan in the 10th grade. For some reason he was in all of my classes except in math (I was at a higher math level than him). Our friendship mainly consisted of throwing insults at one another. Outsiders looking in probably wondered how we were even friends. But I know he will always have my back and I can't image getting married without him there by my side yelling "CAAALM DOWN, Kishan CALM DOWN!"

Mary

Bridesmaid

On point. Clutch. Target. Soul sisters. The bees to my knees. Did I mention Target? These are just a few words Mary and I have used to describe our friendship..because sometimes “friendship” doesn’t do it justice.(#b3) We met at NCSU (Go Pack!!), goofed off together at work, and have laughed till we were in stitches and tears more times than I can count. Through the lowest of lows to the highest moments, she’s stood by my side always in constant support. I thank the universe for putting us together and am so excited to hear her tell me to “Get it together” a million times throughout the wedding festivities. (No promises people.) Also, Ingles.

Taylor

Groomsman

Taylor the Master Editor- at least that's what we called him back in the day. We also called him Uma when we played Super Smash. I met Taylor in the 8th grade in geometry class and eventually became college roommates. I always had a blast playing Ultimate Frisbee with him. This man can throw a disc. Taylor is a one in a million friend. Exhibit A: I had a sociology paper due for a class in college and I did not feel like writing it. I asked Taylor if he felt like writing it for me and he said "Yea, sure". I got a B+ on that paper, so its not like I owe him my life or anything but I doubt anyone else has a friend that would write a whole school paper for you on a whim. Can't wait to debate about every little thing with you on the big day.

Meagan

Bridesmaid

To my grasshopper loving friend: where would we be without each other? Meagan and I bonded over a grasshopper back when we were 8-ish years old. I’ve followed in her footsteps since. We were in the band together, went to college together, got engaged 1 month apart and will be married just under a year to the date of one another. I was lucky enough to stand by her side on her wedding day and cannot imagine mine without her. Love you to the moon and back!

Kevin

Groomsman

Kevin, the man with the last minute plans. Kevin is the biggest procrastinator I know but somehow he makes everything work out in the end. Kevin and I met in 10th grade and became college roommates. Kevin is the kind of person that will always be there for you. One time, Divya and I went to Southpoint Mall and got stranded because we missed the bus. Even though it was midnight and freezing outside he dropped his plans, walked to the other side of campus to his car and drove 40 minutes just to come pick us up. Kevin is always interested in trying new things and open to anything. He is the reason why I have so many memorable stories. I can't wait to add May 8th, 2020 to the list.

Monica

Bridesmaid

Ever meet someone and swear you’ve known them your entire lives?? Or realize that you’ve both lived such similar lives?? Monica and I met a mere 2 years ago but our friendship clicked into place within minutes of meeting each other. In that time, we have traveled the country, gone overseas, ate (and cried) our way through countless new restaurants, shared secrets (and tears), walked each other through hardships and giggled through just about every episode of Friends (did I mention tears?!). I’m so glad I get to share this special day with you! I’ll be sure to save you a pack of tissues because well...you know.

John

Groomsman

John was my first friend in pharmacy school. We both drove Toyota Corollas so obviously we were fast friends. Fun fact, his birthday is the day after mine. I'm lucky to have befriended someone who is always there to give sound advice about anything and everything. I don't know if I would have survived the plethora of group projects in pharmacy school without him...at least it would have been a lot less fun! Another fun fact about John: he became a father this past November! His son is truly lucky to have him as a father. I can't wait to celebrate the big day with him by my side.

Shriram

Bridesman

Ah, my first husband. It is only fitting that you are present for my wedding day. Shriram and I have known each other since we were 8 years old and were married to each other every November until we were 18. How, you ask? Every year, our balvikas group (Sunday school) would put on a play. And every year we would play each other’s spouse. I played the pious wife while Shriram played the silly husband who always needed help with his morals. In actuality, Shriram is the kindest and most loyal friend I have known. Since day one, he has always found ways to make me laugh and I am so thankful to have him by my side when I marry my (“second”) husband.

Tyler

Groomsman

Ever meet someone and forget that you’ve only just met? Well, Tyler is that person. He can get along with anyone and has this crazy ability to make everyone around him comfortable. To top it off, he is probably the funniest person I have ever met. Tyler always came up with the most random ways to help remember medications and they came in handy during exams. Not only is he smart but this kid can dance! You will be sure to find us both on the dance floor on the big day.

Sneha

Bridesmaid

Fun fact: Sneha, among many other things, is Shriram’s wife. And let me tell you, did he win the jackpot! Sneha and I met over Skype (after Shriram casually dropped the bomb that he met a girl and was marrying her) and cliches be damned, it was love at first sight. For Sneha and I, of course! Sneha has the most infectious smile and the brightest attitude of anyone I know. Her bleeding heart can be spotted miles away. I am so thankful to have someone so kind hearted in my life and would be lost without her presence in one of the biggest moments of our lives.

Quoc

Groomsman

Quoc, the biggest bandwagon fan I know. At least he hopped on the Carolina Panthers' wagon! Quoc and I met in pharmacy school and he made it a time to remember. He is a chill guy with a go with the flow attitude and I'll definitely need him by my side come wedding day. Fun fact: Divya went to high school with Quoc's brother- such a small world! I'm lucky to have Quoc as a friend and it wouldn't be a party without him there.

Metcalfe

Groom-BridesMan

The best for last. Alex Metcalfe. Metcalfe is living the American dream: he came to America as an immigrant and now a pilot in the US Navy. Our journey began in the 10th grade where we spent a large amount of time poking fun at his heavy British accent. We became roommates in college and he introduced me to racquetball. (I still say the score is about 50/50) Metcalfe is an amazing friend to both Divya and I and we are so grateful to have him in our lives. We can't imagine our wedding day without your joyful energy!
