Patrick and Sierra met like everyone else during the Covid days: on Hinge! Patrick was just on his way off of the dating app, while Sierra was just about to begin. Good thing Sierra's BFF found Patrick's profile and initiated a conversation on her behalf. Patrick and Sierra had their first date at a brewery and followed it up with Cane's chicken..... I mean, y'all see why he's marrying her, right? Thus began the adventure of a lifetime, and that is no understatement. From Patrick trying out skiing and going out of the country for the first time, to Sierra helping out with Patrick's youth group and watching every sport known to man with him, they've grown closer every single day. From challenging one another to grow in areas of their lives, to working through obstacles together, they are ready for the next chapter of their lives. This was truly a match made in heaven. The greatest gift that these two share is the desire to serve the Lord every day. Their faith has helped them through difficult times together and made them stronger for it. They are so excited for you to join them on their wedding day, and they ask that you pray for them as they prepare for the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony! Their story continued its journey 'For Forever', when Patrick asked Sierra to spend the rest of their lives together, but boy was there a lot of planning before this! On October 28th, Patrick went to Sierra's family to ask for their blessing to marry Sierra. He had a very distinct plan, one that was a callback to one of his first encounters with her father, Robbie. While standing in the living room with both of her parents, Patrick revealed a Cowboys jersey, as Robbie had told Patrick he could only marry his daughter if he cheered for the Cowboys. They asked when he planned to pop the question, and he mentioned December 9th, 2023, not knowing its significance. Right as he said the date, Julie's eyes filled with tears. That was the date her father (Grandpa Barta) had passed away three years prior. At that moment, Patrick knew that was the day it would go down! So with the date chosen and permission now, Patrick put his master plan into action. Asking for Sierra's friends and family to send videos under the disguise of a birthday video, he crafted a unique video with all the reasons they all loved Sierra. So now it was the where, and how to get her there. Asking the same BFF that initiated the original conversation for help, she was able to get her up on Horsetooth Mountain at a spot picked out exactly by Patrick, for the big question. Getting her up there, and explaining why was a whole different issue. Through some small fake-out, including a photo shoot doing random things, she got Sierra up to the exact spot. Then handing her a phone, Sierra began to watch the video. Patrick, having timed the exact distance, went up with another one of Sierra's future bridesmaids, to sneak up behind her. At the end of the video, Patrick said all the reasons why he loved her and that he wanted to spend the rest of his life doing so. But in order for that to happen, he needed her to turn around. Sierra turned around, saw Patrick, and the rest was history.... with a redo shortly after with another callback! Patrick proposed a 2nd time, this time with a ring pop since Sierra also said she would only say yes if she got a ring pop!
