What should I wear?

Answer

Cocktail attire. Think cocktail party in Nantucket --searsucker, Nantucket reds, boat shoes, espadrilles, and the like are all welcome. It's giving preppy, nautical, and ocean-side vibes. It'll also be a late June, tent covered, open air celebration on the docks of a marina from beginning to end, so wear whatever you'll be comfortable and can bust a move in.

Will it be open bar?

Answer

You bet. Don't sweat guessing whether the bar will take credit or cash only, just bring some bills to tip the bartenders.

Do I have to bring my kids?

Answer

Nope. We're keeping this party 21+ so we can enjoy your company without you also having to parent their sugar intake or keep them from falling off the docks.

Where will guests stay overnight?

Answer

Regatta Place doesn't have accommodations on-site, unless you dock your boat in the marina. See the "Hotel & Travel" section for our room block details and code at The Wayfinder Newport. That said, feel free to choose whatever suits your needs in the area. There are many hotels, inns, and house rentals to choose from within a few mile radius. It will be peak season, so expect prices to be on the high end.

What's the deal with parking?

Answer

There'll be free valet parking on-site if you choose to drive. If you're staying overnight, we recommend taking advantage of our shuttle to/from The Wayfinder or getting a taxi/uber/lyft so you get where you're going safely after. If for any reason you drive to the venue and are unable to drive after, you are able to leave your car overnight and pick it up the next morning. Shuttle schedule: -4:30p: First round of transport from Wayfinder to Ceremony -4:55p: Final round of transport from Wayfinder to Ceremony -9:30p: First round of transport from Reception to Wayfinder -11p: Final round of transport from Reception to Wayfinder

I arrived at the Ceremony early, what should I do?

Feel free to grab a drink at the Marina Cafe & Pub (3 Marina Plaza, Newport, RI 02840) right across the parking lot from the venue. You can't miss it and it's steps away from the ceremony!

What's up with welcome drinks on a boat?

Answer

Ahoy, family and friends! If you're in town on Saturday evening, you're welcome to join us for Welcome Drinks and a Sunset Cruise aboard the Schooner Aurora! We can fit up to 68 passengers. Boarding begins at 5:45 pm and we set sail from S-Dock on Goat Island (5 Goat Island) PROMPTLY AT 6 pm. We'll enjoy a nice, slow 2-hour cruise around the Narragansett Bay and Newport Harbor, and return to the dock at 8 pm. If guests aren’t on-board by sail time, then they will unfortunately miss out until we return to the dock. Food & Drinks: It's a BYOB boat and we'll have soft drinks, beer, wine, seltzers, and canned cocktails for everyone to enjoy, as well as some apps and snacks but if there is something specific you would like, please feel free to bring it on board with you. It would be helpful if you update your RSVP if you plan to join us for the cruise so we can be sure to have enough drinks to accommodate everyone, but don't let it stop you from joining us.
