Train

Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line

The northwest Metra line originates at Ogilvie train terminal in downtown Chicago, serves stations all through the northwest suburbs, and ends in Harvard right at the historic Starline Factory. Our ceremony and reception are just steps from the Harvard train terminus. The Metra trains also make a stop at Jefferson Park station, where you can connect with the CTA blue line trains (just down two floors from Metra), which go to and from O'Hare. Plan for the ride between O'Hare and Jefferson Park to take about 15 to 20 minutes.

Flight

O'Hare International Airport

Harvard is about 70 miles from Chicago, from Madison and from Milwaukee, and 40 miles from Rockford, all of which offer airports if you're renting a car to drive through the snowy cornfields. Chicago's O'Hare offers the CTA blue line right in the airport, which whisks you to Jefferson park in a few minutes -- and if you time it right, you can catch the Metra train upstairs that takes you to Harvard, at the end of the train line.

We know Harvard is a long way from most anything - except the beautiful hills around Lake Geneva, just across the border in Wisconsin. We're staying at the Grand Geneva after the party, and hoping we have others to join us there for an informal after-party! It's a Saturday night, after all. Why go home when you can stay for more fun, and wake up in a truly grand resort complete with spa, indoor swimming, and skiing? (Disclaimer: all you real skiers, do not get high expectations! Shuttle

Shuttle from the Starline to Grand Geneva Resort & Spa

December 21, 2019 10:00 pm - 1:00 pm

If we have enough of us staying at Grand Geneva on Saturday night, we can arrange to share a shuttle bus to take us across the border around 10 pm, and bring us all back to Harvard on Sunday afternoon to get our cars or catch the train to Chicago. Please let us know as soon as possible if you're coming to Grand Geneva for the night, and we will work out shuttle transportation.
