We're getting married!

Mat and I worked together before I went to nursing school. We worked in the same company for over two years before even meeting each other. Once we met, Mat made me laugh right away and always kept things light at work. We worked great together as partners. It was quite a while before I agreed to go on an official date with him, but I'm sure glad I finally did!

One day, Mat got a package in the mail from Indiana. He was at work and I texted him saying, "What did you order from Indiana?" He said he ordered a beer bottle opener for outside when we set up our patio. A few days later, he got home from work in the morning, and it was absolutely beautiful outside. I asked him if he wanted to stay up and drink coffee outside with the dogs before going to sleep. He did, and I was talking about how gorgeous it was outside - it was the perfect morning. He asked if I wanted to see the bottle opener he got, and I was kind of annoyed and said, "Not really. Why would you go inside and open it right now when it's this nice out? Just show me later." Well, he went inside anyway and took FOREVER, but finally came out and I turned around and he was down on one knee. He was holding the sign he had made for me in Indiana with "Will you marry me?" burned into the wood. It was the perfect moment - with no one else but the two of us and the dogs.
