As cliché as it is to say, we are two best friends that fell in love. Although, it didn't necessarily start off that way... Jenna was working at Outback as a server and assistant manager when a new manager started at our store. He was supposed to be this incredibly experienced guy that was going to add so much to the team. Enter Dave. Day ONE of Dave working at the store he said some off-the-cuff-typical-Dave joke or comment in the server alley during a slow part of the shift. Jenna immediately doesn't like this cocky new guy who just thinks he can walk in here and be part of the "family." Since Dave often closed and Jenna was the server to balance the books at the end of the night, they had a lot of time to get to know each other. By the end of week one, Jenna ate her words and accepted Dave into the restaurant. ( Don't tell him this, because Jenna will deny it, but he really IS that experienced and good at his job) Over the next few months, as Dave and Jenna got to know each other, they found a shared love of sports. Jenna, being her father's daughter, (thanks dad!) started to make friendly wagers on various games with Dave. As time went on, they would meet at local bars and restaurants to throw a game of darts-which Dave taught Jenna to do-and watch the Lightning win playoff game after playoff game, fight over whether the Patriots were worth the hype, and somehow always be shocked when the Bears failed to perform (okay...maybe not that shocked) before they knew it they had created this incredible, fun, and out-of-nowhere friendship. From there, as they say, the rest was history...

So, if we are being honest, Jenna had an idea that the proposal was coming, but didn't know when or where.. About a month or so before Dave proposed, they had taken a trip to Chicago to see family and friends now that covid wasn't as much of a threat. It had been WAY too long since Jenna had good pizza or hugged her dad. On their visit, unbeknownst to Jenna, Dave had planned to ask for Jeff's permission to ask Jenna to marry him. Jeff tearfully (happy tears we hope!) gave his blessing and the pre-celebration started! Weeks went by and Jenna was waiting-I wish I could say patiently but let's be honest...there was slim to none in the patience department on this one. It was the last week of March and Dave suddenly wanted to go on a new budget....hmmmm... he must have spent more money than usual recently... Jenna was on pins and needles. Every dinner date, late night game of cards at home, or even a trip to the grocery store (they have an unusual love of grocery shopping together!) Jenna was wondering if it was going to happen. Behind the scenes, Dave HAD purchased the ring, and with the help of Maid of Honor Riana, chose the most beautiful vintage inspired ring Jenna always envisioned. Dave had planned with friends a big, most likely over-the-top proposal. However, that proposal did not come to fruition. On the morning of March 29, 2022 Dave and Jenna were doing their morning routine. They had walked the dogs and were having coffee in the kitchen-being goofy together as always. Jenna had gone to grab something and when she turned around, there he was, her best friend and love of her life, on one knee-ring in hand. Dave professed he had something more extravagant planned, but that because their everyday life is what he loves most about their relationship, this was the perfect moment to ask to share their forever together. He couldn't wait. With tears in her eyes Jenna excitedly said yes! Now we get to celebrate starting that forever with all of you!
