Question

What should we wear for the scheduled events?

Answer

Friday – Welcome Dinner & Costume Party: Costumes - Our favorite! Theme: S & I - As an ode to the couple, we will be trying to come up with costumes that start with either S or I. Play it simple, or go full out, you know we will. We are very flexible on descriptors to sneak it in... Silver Pirate? Aye-aye. Intergalactic hippie? Far out. Saturday – Ceremony & Reception: Semi-Formal Men, that means suits. Ladies, cocktail dresses, dressy suits, or long dresses. But we really just want you to feel good, whatever form that may take. You will be walking on dirt and uneven ground, so please wear shoes you can get around in comfortably. Ladies, I highly recommend wearing wedges, flats, or heels with a wider base and aren’t super high. Only wear stilettos if you are a seasoned runway model with lots of forest floor experience. Jackets, wraps, hats/gloves (depending on weather) are strongly encouraged for the night time hours.

Question

What should we wear the rest of the time?

Answer

Rest of the Weekend: Comfy and Casual Jeans and anything else you're comfortable wearing in the woods. Please note that besides sleeping in your cabins, will be outside, so wear shoes that are comfortable to walk in. And the terrain is quite hilly with stairs interspersed. Weather should be fairly warm during the middle of the day, but we’ll lose daylight early beneath our giant Redwood friends, and temperatures can drop quickly, so bring an extra layer for warmth.

Question

Should I bring my kids?

Answer

We are blessed to have a large circle of friends and family with an equally large and growing number of kiddos. Unfortunately, we’re quite limited on space and won’t be able to accommodate the little ones. If it means the difference of being able to come or not, please first reach out to us! The Chicago reception will also be an all-adult invite list for the night. So for one night, you are free from the kids! Come out and have some fun! If this is an issue holding anyone back from coming though, please reach out and we can see what we can do to accommodate.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

The day of the wedding there will be no free parking spots for guests to park just for the day, you will need to park at the reserved lot at St. Peter and Paul Church and take a shuttle or Lyft up to the venue. Refer to the Travel and Lodging page for more info. We need any and all spots that may still be available at the venue for the assorted vendors to come in and complete deliveries. If you are staying on site, there should be spots very close/adjacent to your cabins. But parking is VERY limited. When you come in, park in the general lot near the entrance, stop by the welcome cabin to pick up your lodging map. Then proceed with your car to your cabins. The parking spots will either be in small "lots" next to roads or just pull off areas on the road. Wherever you park, please be courteous to other drivers and make sure more cars can fit around you if possible, and that you are not blocking the road to any large delivery trucks that may need to come through later.

Question

Any additional rules at the venue?

Answer

This venue prohibits hard liquor and puts heavy restrictions on smoking (we’re in a forest, after all). There will be a few smoking buckets available at designated areas.

Question

Will there be cell service or Wi-Fi at the venue?

Answer

There will be minimal data coverage in this region, and limited onsite Wi-Fi. We may choose to reserve this bandwidth for those with extenuating circumstances, so please be prepared for some quality offline time. You’ll be having too much fun to worry about that anyhow 😉.

Question

Do you have a hashtag?

Answer

For anyone wanting to share live updates of the party, please use the hashtag #StizzyInLove. Also, this is a good opportunity to quietly motion toward the previous point about data coverage 😊.

Question

What do I do if I have another question that isnt answered here?

Answer

Then send us an email at diebold.heye@gmail.com, or give us a call/text on our cell phones. Happy to field any and all questions. The main thing is that we can enable a wonderful celebration that all can enjoy!
