San Antonio River Walk
This will take you to the center of downtown! You'll get the traditional feel of San Antonio with all the restaurants, original architecture, and giant cypress trees along the river.
Waxy's
Waxy O'Conners is a classic Irish pub on the Riverwalk. Any time the McVey's go downtown we make it a point to stop in for a pint.
The Alamo
The Alamo is the battle ground and historical marker the city of San Antonio is built around. Definitely a great photo opp. Remember the Alamo!
Mi Tierra Cafe y Panaderia
Here you'll find classic Tex-Mex at its finest! Enjoy the fiesta spirit and delicious foods of San Antonio, Texas.
Halcyon Southtown
This is a cool place to get a coffee and a bite to eat in South town. It's also our favorite place to walk the Riverwalk because it's a quiet, beautiful piece of the river that takes you through the gorgeous King William district.
Hot Joy
This is one of the uniquely delicious restaurants in South town. It's an Asian fusion that they describe as spicy, funky, and wild. They also have vegetarian & vegan options!
San Antonio Museum of Art
"Come curious, leave inspired" This extensive art museum is a beautiful gem of San Antonio. They offer free general admission on Sundays from 10am to 12pm, it's also right up the road from the venue!
Rosella Coffee Company
Here is a great coffee shop next door to the art museum! There's Riverwalk access here too, which is between downtown and the Pearl.
Pizza Classics
In the mood for pizza to go or eat in? This is the spot to order from! It's a definite favorite of ours.
Mila Coffee
Our favorite coffee trailer which sits among a collection of small businesses that operate out of Airstreams and buses. You'll find everything from leather goods at Outland Provision to a haircut at Traveler Barbershop.
Witte Museum
"Where Nature, Science, and Culture Meet" The Witte has been revamped into a stunning museum with a variety of exhibitions and epic galleries.
PRESS Coffee
Just around the corner from the Witte, this small coffee shop makes delicious espresso drinks in a unique space that looks like a greenhouse. Also, if you're more in the mood for tea, a couple businesses down you'll find Brew's Lee Tea Station.
Pearl Brewery
What was once home of the Pearl Brewing Company in the late 1800's, has become a cultural hub full of restaurants and cafes, locally owned storefronts, the Culinary Institute of America, and a weekend farmers market on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm and Sundays from 10am to 2pm. Hotel Emma -our wedding venue!- is located here where the original Pearl Brewhouse tower was. This place has plenty of history and beauty around every corner!
