Hello friends and family! What a wild ride so far with this virus. We hope you are all staying safe and healthy during this time. As of now, our wedding is officially being pushed back to later on in the year (we have our eye on early October!) due to the severity of things. We will send text messages to everyone notifying you of our official future date! Love you all <3
Saam and I have been friends for a very long time. We were always part of the same friend groups after high school before either of us had things figured out. As time went on, I knew whoever ended up with Saam would be a lucky gal.
Saam and I began talking and hanging out with each other more one-on-one. We had gone out for dinner a time before, not calling it a date, then we had dinner a second time at our favorite local Chinese restaurant. We were supposed to meet at 6, but I was... fashionably late. We had great conversation and a meal that we've had so many times over since then. Because he paid the last meal, I was going to buy this one. He went to the "bathroom" and I waited for the check. When I opened it up there was no check inside, instead a letter from Saam which was one of the sweetest notes I'd ever read. At the bottom it said, "Will you be my girlfriend?", with a "Yes or No" for me to circle. When I looked up, Saam was there with a bouquet of carnations and baby's breath, waiting in anticipation for my answer. I was so happy and embraced him with yes and a kiss!
We love the great outdoors and found that one of our favorite places is Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. We had been there a bunch of times together to hike and camp, so one mild day in late October, we went there for a day trip with our good friends Russ and Em. We hiked the Loop Trail all the way around, then up the Summit Trail to the top. Saam and I wandered over to "our spot" and I took off my socks and shoes to just lounge a minute and take in the scenery. As I got comfortable Saam asked if I would stand up and give him a hug, so of course I did. He whispered sweet nothings in my ear, and then softly said, "I can't wait to tell our children that this is where I proposed to their mom." He then got on one knee, opened up the ring he was hiding in his jacket pocket the whole hike, and asked me to marry him! I couldn't believe how thoughtful he was and how beautiful that moment was, and I said YES! Our friends had secretly been taking pictures, so when they came back over to us they busted the champagne and glasses out of their backpack, and we all celebrated one of my favorite moments of all time. <3 We are looking forward to our wedding day with excitement, and we can't wait to take that next step with your company! Thank you for being a part of our journey thus far. We can't wait for our new chapter to begin.
