Reserve NO LATER than 4/29/2024 Petit Jean State Park is not only a beautiful place with so much to do, it also has an interesting, and very "us" back story. Short version of the story of Petit Jean: Adrainne was engaged to a French Nobleman named Chavet back in the 1700's. He was granted permission to explore and settle on the land now known as Petit Jean. Chavet told his fiancé that she could not come along because it was too dangerous. She decided that was unacceptable, so she dressed up like a cabin boy and was allowed to travel with them. The crew called her Petit Jean, which means Little John. Noone recognized her, not even her fiancé. As they were making preparations to go back to France, Adrianne became ill and died. It was only then that her true identity was discovered. She is buried in the park.

Lodge and cabins are on site at the park There is parking at the lodge. We have put a block on a variety of accommodations, lodge rooms, and cabins. These MUST be booked no later than April 29th, 2024. Please make your reservations asap by calling the hotel and telling them you are with the Heard/Cartwright wedding, PT-41 Wedding. The cabins are mostly on a bluff within a few hundred feet of the lodge.
