In the summer of 2013, Orion and Diana went on separate trips to Beijing: Orion to absorb the language and culture for the first time, and Diana to return to her birth city to visit family and try to improve her rudimentary Chinese. Serendipitously, they both ended up in the same summer program at Renmin University and were introduced through their classmates and friends. While they didn't end up officially dating until a whole summer later, sparks flew immediately and thus transpired the first "summer of love".

May 16, 2021 - It all happened on a perfect sunny spring day with Orion's hometown of Saratoga Springs as the backdrop. Orion and Diana were visiting for the weekend and planned to visit downtown to visit their favorite shops. Getting an early start, Orion asked Diana to go for a walk in Congress Park while waiting for the stores to open. It was all part of his plan as he led Diana through the park where his parents were married, and up to a bench that overlooked the whole park. It was beautiful and sentimental, and seven years of experiences together culminated into this moment, when Orion got down on his knee and asked Diana to do it for real. She said yes :)
