Our story is best told backwards. It's hard to imagine our lives now without each other. From cooking dinner together and taking Emmy for a walk in the evening, to discussing our future dreams, ideas, and projects, our lives have become intricately intertwined. It is the grace of the little moments that we share together now that made the six and a half years of long-distance, Claire in Boston (then later New York) and Liam in Santa Barbara, worth the battle. There were many nights spent missing each other and many days dreaming of a future where we could see each other every day. Instead, we made do with the brief reprieves our hectic schedules and limited funds allowed; we would often go 4-5 months without seeing each other. Despite this hardship, in our time together we have been lucky enough to have traveled the world visiting some wildly beautiful places. We have seen the rolling hills of Ireland, the reflective emptiness of the Mojave desert, and the romantic Parisian countryside where we got engaged. However, before all of that, our love story started simply, by baking banana bread, by watching TV on an uncomfortable futon, and by taking many Ubers (when it was still cheap) back and forth between our apartments. Neither of us thought that we would end up marrying each other when we first saw each other on Mass Ave on that chilly Boston night. However, when telling the story in reverse, it's almost obvious it could not have ended up any other way.
