Check out Kush’s favorite monument from his childhood. He used to go here with his fam for picnics in the park or to grab an ice cream late at night or just walk around :)
If you knew Dhwani when she was a child, you would know why this place is on our list - every time you’d ask her where to hang, she’d always only say Qutub Minar. Wondering why? There’s only one way to find out (or rather several) - take a walk in the Qutub Minar complex or go for a show in the complex to learn about India’s Mughal history, or just grab dinner at one of the restaurants around with beautiful views of the Minar.
This is where Dhwani and Kush first met - check out the beautiful campus of one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in India. Please get us an iced tea from Delhi School of Economics if you go!
Not only is this the place where Dhwani and Kush started their journey together, this is also their shared alma mater and one of the oldest educational institutions in Delhi. The 100+ year old building is an architectural treat to explore. Please get us anything from the canteen if you go!
Just a stone’s throw away from Dhwani’s high school, explore the streets where Dhwani bunked her classes (only with prior permission from home though). Check out the market for a real flavor of India’s shopping scene amid thin streets and street hawkers.
If you didn’t know already, Kush shares a very strong bond with his grandparents. Check out the fabled streets of Old Delhi that he frequented with his Baba (grandpa) and Amma (grandma) - you may find structures and buildings here that are 300+ years old. Explore the beautiful Red Fort and the Jama Masjid that are among the landmark Mughal monuments in India. Don’t forget to wander (or shop around) the streets of Nai Sadak (New Street) and eat at Parantha Gali. If you go to Karim’s, please get us some kababs - they are easily the best in the world!
Check out this highly recommended place by Kush. Walk in and around the Fort, or hang by the lake it overlooks. Tired from all the walking? Grab a drink at one of the bars around the fort! The streets will also remind you of Old Delhi - wondering what that is? Check out Chandni Chowk in our list of recommendations!
A recommendation straight from our hearts - if you had one day in Delhi and wanted to visit one place that lives, breathes, screams and bleeds the spirit of Delhi, go to Connaught Place. You can spend an entire day shopping, eating, wandering and snacking here and you would still want more! And you would’ve barely scratched the surface! You gotta see it to believe it!
Another one of our personal favorites and grossly underrated Mughal monument in Delhi. Visit the monument during the first half of the day to get some amazing pictures inside and outside this beautiful red brick monument.
Another top recommendation from Dhwani, pay a visit to the Indian Rail Museum! Did you know India has the 4th largest railway system in the world? And did you know its heritage is 169 years old? There are a lot of amazing facts you will learn at this beautiful museum that also features some of the oldest rail engines along with vintage princely trains!
One the largest museums in India with a variety of art from pre-historic to modern art. Dhwani’s favorite exhibits are the Mughal miniature paintings!
