While Indian weddings are infamous for being delayed, the Gupta-Kapadia wedding *hopes* to break the norm. *T&C apply *The couple is not responsible for factors outside their control. For example - the mare misbehaving, Dhwani’s makeup taking 86791 hours, etc. Thank you for your understanding.
Disclaimer: expect some (read: several) emotional moments from our families as they kick-start the wedding festivities. Sangeet (sung-eeth) literally translates to Music! This will be an event full of dancing (yes some of them will be choreographed), cocktails and food (cuisine? Indian (duh!))
Nov. 22 is reserved for recovery from all the cocktails from Sangeet! We do have a few small pre-wedding ceremonies, offering prayers to all the planets and lathering turmeric on Dhwani and Kush to describe a couple. You are welcome to attend the prayers at 11 AM or the turmeric ceremony at 2 PM at Opulent Hotel.
The Baraat is the procession of the groom prior to the wedding ceremonies. This will start outdoors near the hotel's main entrance and end with Kush’s entry into the main lawn for the wedding ceremonies. Kush (atop a mare) will be accompanied by his family, friends, and musicians (think desi percussions and clarinet). It's about 30 minutes and a huge blast! This is for all family and friends of the groom, as well as anyone else who is interested in participating (dancing).
Please RSVP by July 15.
