Saloni and Dhruv met in what is an unconventional way to meet in the United States, through their parents. Having reached an age when they could no longer be single and after being shown countless pictures of potential matches, they both agreed to talk to each other to show their parents that this wouldn’t work in a world of tinder and hinge. They started texting and surprisingly their conversation was fluid and even exciting. Swallowing their pride they decided to meet up to see if an “arranged” match could actually be a substantial match. They met on May 27, 2018 and surprisingly got along better than they had with anyone before. Their first date was 7 hours long and they went from cafes to restaurants and also visited Dhruv’s best friend Udit all on their first date. Their conversation was low pressure and they soon realized that they had to deal with the fact that their parents could actually be right about this. Thus started this long distance relationship, spanning New Jersey and Boston and all of I-84, CT-15, Bolt Bus Routes and Amtrak. Having exhausted all modes of transportation and all rest stops between NJ and Boston they decided that they were serious enough and in love to actually talk about settling down together. Conversations that began with what if scenarios actually started to begin with when. Saloni decided to risk it by moving to NYC since Dhruv could not relocate to a different market. Moving near each other had its own challenges, with dealing from getting used to a new job, new city and also the fact that they were accessible to each other a lot easier than when they were 225 miles apart. Nevertheless love conquered all and their grit and strength and seeing each other’s positives and the bright future that lay ahead, and also with the support of their loved ones, they continued on this beautiful journey eventually deciding that they were ready to spend the rest of their lives together and start their own family. With love. <3
