Kevin & Dhanuska met at the airport on the way to Israel with Fr. Raymond and the Queen's Chaplaincy. They spoke to each other a couple times during the trip and at one time Kevin even helped Dhanuska finish her pasta lunch (Kevin has no memory of this). Once back in Canada, they went their separate ways and their only communication was through Instagram over their shared love for the Thomas family dog, Sir Micah.

A spark was lit the summer of 2021 by the one and only, Fr. Raymond. In a conversation with Kevin, Fr. Raymond mentioned Dhanuska and Kevin's interest was piqued. But no moves were made. A few months later, when Dhanuska went to Kingston to see her sister, she met with Fr. Raymond and in that meeting he brought up Kevin. She was surprised, but decided to be open to the suggestion. Lo and behold, not even 20 minutes after that conversation, Dhanuska bumped into, none other than the man himself, Kevin. This wasn't intentional but my oh my what a coincidence. Kevin was planning a summer bbq at his house and casually invited Dhanuska. Unfortunately, she couldn't make it, however, Kevin is not a quitter. In their conversation on Instagram, he told her he had a meeting the next day in Pickering (plot twist - there was no actual meeting) and he invited Dhanuska for coffee since he was "in her area". They met at Coffee Culture and at the end of a long conversation, Kevin asked Dhanuska on a date and she accepted. The rest is history...

For those who know Kevin well, you know that he usually can't keep a secret, but throughout the planning and preparation for the proposal, Dhanuska had no idea. Unknowingly, Dhanuska did her best to thwart Kevin's well laid out plans - but that's a story for another time! They started the day with Sunday morning Mass, followed by breakfast at Coffee Culture, where they had first met (full circle), and then went on a walk along the waterfront, where Kevin got down on one knee and asked THE question. Dhanuska was in absolute shock and almost forgot to say yes! We are so excited to celebrate the beginning of the next season in our lives with you. Please keep us in your prayers. See you in July!
