Hispanic Traditions Taking Place
As part of our ceremony and reception, we will be including cherished Hispanic traditions that represent love, unity, family, & fun moments. These traditions are deeply meaningful to Deya & celebrate her culture while blessing our marriage as we start this new chapter together.
During the ceremony-
Las Arras Matrimoniales (Unity Coins)- The groom presents the bride with 13 gold coins, blessed by a priest, symbolizing his commitment to provide for the family & their trust in God.
El Lazo (Wedding Lasso)- After vows, a large rosary, is placed in a figure-8 shape around the couple’s shoulders by padrinos (sponsors) to represent their infinite bond.
During the Reception-
Víbora de la Mar (Snake Dance)- The newlyweds standings on chairs form an arch with the brides veil & guests form a line by holding hands leading a snake under the newlyweds.
Baile del Billete (Money Dance)- Guests pay to dance with the bride & groom by pinning money on their clothes, helping fund their new life together.
