Devonte and Jacorah met the summer of 2015 in Nashville at Meharry Medical College's B.S. M.D program. At the time Jacorah was a rising sophomore attending Hollins University in Roanoke, VA, and Devonte was attending Tennessee State University in Nashville, TN. After, several failed attempts made by Devonte to successfully ask the focused and reluctant Jacorah to dinner, he finally succeeded towards the end of the 8 week program. That first date to Chili's was the beginning of the couples love story. Devonte and Jacorah maintained a long distance relationship for a year that made them stronger, and more in love than they could have imagined. Within the next year several unexpected turn of events took place, which resulted in Jacorah transferring to Fisk University back in Nashville, and on the same street of Meharry where the couple met, and TSU where Devonte attended college. At this point the young couple had become the embodiment of Jefferson Street HBCU love. The couple remained strong, receiving degrees in biology, psychology, biochemistry, and a teaching certification. In November of 2018 Devonte could not wait until his graduation to pop the question of marriage to Jacorah. When she said yes the couple made it their goal to continue to build themselves by elevating their education and careers before the wedding 2 years from the day the got engaged. The future married couple have continued to portray themselves as #Blackexcellence by becoming homeowners at the age of 23. As well as, beginning their careers as an educator and nurse. Their ambition and motivation to build each other up is what fuels their love for each other. "He is my biggest fan and I am his biggest cheerleader," says Jacorah when describing their relationship. The young couple are looking forward to saying their vows and celebrating with friends and family at the same place their relationship first began and grew to what it is now. They are very excited to become #ThemBradleys!
