Haystack Mountain
Go for a hike here if you like hiking! Or if you don't like hiking, know that Katie suffered through it one time, so you can too. It is non-hiker accessible. Your mileage may vary.
Snow Republic Brewery
A very cute '80s ski movie-themed brewery. Nice array of beers and great snacks! Snow Republic is also right next to a really fun thrift shop that has molded itself to fit into an old house. It is cash only; proceeds go to support the Deerfield Valley community.
Vermont Wine and Harvest Festival
Set in the backdrop of our world-renowned Vermont fall foliage, attendees of the 16th Annual Vermont Wine & Harvest Festival will discover, savor and enjoy Vermont vintners, small specialty food producers, chefs, painters, publishers, cheese makers, potters, jewelers, photographers, and farmers. The Festival spans three days, moving attendees through picturesque Deerfield Valley for wine tastings, farm to table dining experiences, shopping, hiking and more. Tickets and more info at the link! Events are held EITHER at Mount Snow or in downtown Wilmington.
Beer Naked Brewery
An absolutely scrumptious beer and pizza place -- right by the distillery we ALSO recommend! The view is spectacular.
Vermont Distillers, Inc.
THE distributor for Metcalfe's Maple Bourbon (and other delightful products). Across the highway from Beer Naked Brewery. You do have to sprint across a route, but don't worry about it; it's fine. We do it every year. Beautiful view, yummy cocktails. Make sure you take them up on their free samples!
Scott Farm Orchard
Rudyard Kipling lived here!!! It's historic and fun. They usually have live music and we BELIEVE they'll have apple picking this time of year. This will also put you right by Brattleboro, VT which is worth a stroll in!
Gaines Farm
Our wedding weekend should be the first weekend for Guilford's corn maze if you have a hankering for that fall feel!
Fine Arts Vermont
You can blow glass here! They offer classes! Or just take a look at their art!
Downtown Wilmington
It's just one street, but it's a cute street! There are lots of quirky shops and fun places to grab a drink or a bite. Some of our favs: - The Village Roost (coffee and sandwiches during the day, sangria and ice cream in the afternoon) - Valley Craft Ales (brewery + New York-style eating -- the guy who runs it lived in NYC for two decades and brought a New York-infused Italian menu to the place. It also looks like an old ski cabin. Lots of old ski cabins here.) - 1836 Country Store (Vermont-themed knick-knacks AND really good fudge) - Alpenglow Bistro (Swiss chalet-themed food) - Wilmington Village Pub (the only late-night spot in the area. It is sometimes open until 1 AM but also sometimes closes at 7 PM if they feel like it. Friday night is karaoke night!)
