We’re getting Married!

It all began in June of 2017. Devon and Jared both attended Ballston Spa High School in Upstate New York, where their paths first crossed. Senior year, they shared a government class. Near the end of the school year, Devon was outside with their teacher, Mrs. Cohen, flipping through the yearbook. Mrs. Cohen happened to point out how nice Jared’s senior portrait looked, and that was the moment Jared officially caught Devon’s eye. A week or two later, they both attended their senior prom. Each with different dates as friends. Devon & Jared ended up at the same assigned table. Even though they were there as friends, they spent most of the night laughing and hitting it off (since they would rather be anywhere but the dance floor lol). After Senior Prom, it didn’t take long before they decided to give dating a shot, and they spent the entire summer together. After graduation, they attended different colleges. Jared at SUNY Adirondack and later Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. So they navigated a few years of long-distance. Every summer and school break, they reunited and picked up right where they left off. They also began a tradition of visiting Disney World together during those breaks. Their first trip in December 2020 was so magical that they kept going back every chance they could. In the summer of 2021, they added a new member to their family: an adorable puppy named Yoda, who they adopted at just 4 weeks old. He’s been their sidekick ever since and is now four years old! After Jared graduated from Clarkson University, he moved back home, but only briefly. Devon had been offered a job at Walt Disney World, so they decided to make the big move to Orlando in the summer of 2022. Disney had long been a place they called home on vacations, and now it truly was. They live just 10 minutes away from the parks with Yoda and spend their days off making new memories together around Disney and all that Florida has to offer. On December 14th, 2024, during a beautiful sunrise at Melbourne Beach, Jared proposed with Yoda by their side. It was the perfect beginning to their next chapter together.
