We are a modern couple so, naturally, we met on Bumble. Devon thought it was adorable how much Dan loved being an uncle and Dan thought Devon had the bluest eyes he'd ever seen. Devon made the first move and after just about 2 weeks, they went on their first date to Modern Apizza in New Haven, CT for pizza and beer. Two things they both really enjoy. We deleted the app shortly after meeting, were in a long-distance committed relationship between Greenwich and New Haven, and were moving in to our apartment together by that November. We both knew the other was "the one" very early on in our relationship, and here we are 3 years later engaged to be married!

We were on our way up to St. Andrews By The Sea, New Brunswick for a family trip with Devon's entire family. Parents, Brothers, Sisters-In-Law, Nieces and Nephews - staying in one house - for an entire week (!!). On the drive up, we decided to make a pit stop overnight to see Dan's cousin Mark and his wife Alex in Massachusetts. Dan seemed particularly anxious about getting there quickly, which Devon found odd considering they were finally on vacation. Upon arrival, we settled in and said our hellos and then got dressed to go on a hike with Mark and Alex and their pup Ruthie. Dan was adamant about bringing a backpack and driving in separate cars, which Devon thought was also odd given the backpack only housed a couple of water bottles (or so she thought) and there were only 4 of us (+ a doggo). On the drive over, Dan mentioned to Devon that he was willing to take a photo on the hike. She was THRILLED because Dan was not always eager to be in photographs. At the top of the summit, Devon suggested everyone take a selfie with the view in the background. Alex responded, "let's get one of you two first!", so off we went to pose together. Dan pulled Devon in closely, looked at her, and began telling her how much he loved her and wanted to spend their lives together. It was only moments until he was down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Devon responded "Oh my gosh BABY, are you serious!? YES!!!!!" and just like that they were engaged.
