Ashley and Jake first met in May of 2020 through mutual friends. What started as a simple introduction quickly turned into something special, and it didn’t take long for them to plan their first date. For their first date, they grabbed ice cream and sat together in Elizabeth Park, talking and getting to know each other. It was a simple evening, but one that marked the beginning of something meaningful. From there, their relationship grew into a life filled with laughter, adventures, travel, and time spent with family and friends — all leading up to the moment Jake asked Ashley to spend forever together. 💍

Jake proposed in Amelia Island, a place that has become incredibly special to us after vacationing there with his family for the past five years. We flew in late Thursday night with our friends Sam and Brayden and woke up the next morning ready for a fun weekend together with Jake’s cousin Lauren and her soon-to-be husband, Brock. Friday started like the perfect vacation day — a morning beach walk followed by a quick trip to grab a few essentials for the house. After that, we spent a few hours relaxing by the pool before getting ready to take some beach pictures later that evening. Brayden and Jake had mentioned wanting to grab cigars for later, so the guys decided to drive separately to the beach while Sam and I stayed back to get ready together. We turned up the music, shared makeup, had a few cocktails, and had the best time getting ready for the night. We even joked that it might be the last time I was getting ready as a “girlfriend.” When we arrived at the beach parking lot, Lauren was suddenly there — which immediately confused me since I thought she and Brock were golfing. She quickly grabbed my keys while Sam grabbed my phone and camera… and that’s when I realized what was about to happen. We walked down the beach path and there Jake was, waiting on the sand on the most beautiful sunny day, with roses and a white blanket set up by the water. I couldn’t believe it. He was so nervous (even though he still claims he wasn’t!). We laughed, we cried, and of course I said yes. After soaking it all in and taking lots of pictures, we celebrated the rest of the night together on Main Street. One of the most perfect days we’ll never forget. 💍

Over the years, Ashley and Jake have fallen in love with Florida — especially the beach towns that have become the backdrop for so many of their favorite memories. After getting engaged in Amelia Island, choosing a destination on the water for their wedding felt only fitting. They wanted their wedding to feel like more than just a single day — they wanted it to feel like a few days of celebration and vacation with their closest friends and family. With its beautiful sunsets, ocean views, and lively island atmosphere, Key West felt like the perfect place to start their next chapter together. They can’t wait to celebrate in paradise with the people they love most. 🌅💍
