It was a hot summer, Sunday night—May 28, 2017, Memorial Day weekend—when we first crossed paths at a club called Native (RIP) in downtown Orlando. The moment Devin walked in, we locked eyes. We didn’t speak right away, but something clicked. Just before the club closed, Zy tapped him on the shoulder. We exchanged numbers, and that was that—or so we thought. A few days later, we went on our first date and saw Baywatch. It was sweet, simple, and just the right kind of awkward. No kiss, no pressure—just two people getting to know each other. Everything flowed naturally. Afterwards, we spent endless summer nights hanging out, texting non-stop, listening to music (especially J. Cole), and talking for hours. There was no game-playing—just an easy, undeniable, and genuine connection. On July 1, 2017, we made it official. And now, eight years later, we're getting married.
Some things really are written by fate. We met in May and made it official in July, and now we’re getting married on 7.7.25—numbers that have quietly shown up at every significant moment in our story. We didn’t plan it that way. It just happened… perfectly. Our boys, Zade & Dez, were born in May, the same month we first met. And 7 has always found its way into our milestones—from our anniversary to our wedding date. It’s become a symbol of alignment, timing, and the quiet kind of magic that can’t be forced. For us, 5 and 7 are more than just numbers—they’re reminders that love finds you when it’s meant to. And everything that matters will fall into place when the time is right.
