We're getting married!

Devin and Eliza met in 2010 while they were both in high school and attending the same church in Charlottesville. Eliza was best friends with Allie, the little sister of Devin's best friend, Jake, so they were often in the same place, and Eliza was always trying to get the attention of, and impress, the older boys. Devin and Eliza spent some time together during high school, but that came to an end when Eliza's dad wanted to have a "talk" with Devin to hear about his intentions. Not surprisingly, the then 17 year-old Devin didn't want to have that conversation with the father of the 15 year-old girl he was casually spending time with. Despite this, they remained friends until Eliza left Charlottesville to attend CNU in the fall of 2014. Devin went on to move to Norfolk and attend ODU, and the two didn't remain in touch during those years. After graduating from their universities and moving back to Charlottesville, Eliza and Devin separately attended a UVA-Liberty football game (UVA crushed the Flames - go Hoos!) on November 10, 2018. Eliza spotted Devin and thought it would be nice to say "hi" after so long. She invited Devin and his friend out for a drink later that night. Devin didn't want to go, but his GREAT friend Drew insisted that they go anyway. They met up later that night and all had a great time re-connecting. It didn't take any time for Devin and Eliza to hit it off and they proceeded to spend time with each other every day for weeks following. Now it is 3 years later and they couldn't be more excited to be committed to spending the rest of their lives together. Devin did eventually have the much anticipated "talk" with Eliza's dad when they first started dating in 2018, and an even more important one in the summer of 2021 ;)
