Brant was a sophomore in high school when he first saw Devin walk into the cafeteria with one of his friends. He had never seen her before but something about her shyness intrigued him. Devin was a junior in high school dressed in sweat pants and a jacket for her basketball game that night. One of her friends invited her to sit with them at lunch since she was still fairly new to the school. It was then Devin saw Brant across the lunch table, however, this was not the first time she had seen him. She had seen Brant a couple months before that day, while he was walking down the hall with friends. Her sister was with her and pointed him out warning her to stay away. Devin never understood why and because of that, was intrigued by Brant, wondering what's so bad about him while still trying to take her sisters warning to heart. Devin was able to avoid Brant for a few months until Brant went out of his way to pick on her. They started to talk and get to know each other. Brant started going to Devin's basketball games even though he didn't know the first thing about basketball. He even sat with her parents. This was the moment Devin knew Brant wasn't being a tease and actually liked her. So on December 7th 2012, Brant walked Devin to basketball practice and asked her to go out with him. She said, "About time" and they spent the next 6 years falling in love.

Brant had so much trouble planning a way too propose to Devin. She always knows everything he's thinking and it makes it impossible to surprise her. He had planned to take her to one of their favorite parks for a weekend of camping and hiking and then propose. But as soon as he asked her if she would like to go, she jokingly responded, why do you want to spend a weekend there, are you going to propose or something. Brant got super quite and said, not anymore. That's when Devin realized a proposal was in the future. From there, Brant decided he would just ask when she least expected it. So on Friday, November 30, 2018 he convinced her to go with him to Eagle Creek Park to take some late fall photos. She had no idea what was coming. She was expecting him to propose the following week on their 6 year anniversary and if not on their anniversary then she figured it would be another year. He found a beautiful spot and with his camera rolling and the sun going down fast, Brant got down on one knee and asked Devin to marry him. She said yes!
