Andrew and Vicki met on a gorgeous October day overlooking Plymouth Harbor. After having talked for two months prior, this was no big deal (not), and Andrew showed up early while Vicki showed up slightly late having to have changed her dress and checked it many times with her family and friends. Andrew and Vicki first chatted after meeting on Hinge, chatting about Vicki’s answer to the prompt “I want you to know I am very competitive at Mario Kart and board games.” Andrew quipped he could win at Mario Kart, and was a master Risk player. Andrew has yet to win at Mario Kart 🤣. Not wanting to leave after lunch, Vicki and Andrew drove around Plymouth and Duxbury, stumbling upon the Gunpowder bridge, somewhere neither of them had been before. They both knew that this was something real, and felt this was the start of a new life. Date two was scheduled the next weekend.
After two years of dating, Andrew and Vicki were engaged at Parker Hill Boutique Campground and Farm, where they celebrated their first and second anniversary of when they had first met. Both lovers of all things Fall, and Vicki being a Vermonter from graduate school, Parker Hill was the perfect place to unwind and spend some time together. Even after only 6months traveling to and from Cape Cod (where Andrew lived) and Watertown (where Vicki lived), they knew they would marry each other someday. Vicki began to drop hints to Andrew about ring sizes and types of rings she liked. Andrew sneakily started shopping and had gotten a ring the summer of 2022. He was waiting for that “perfect moment”. That weekend, it was cold and Vicki decided to not shower that morning to save some warmth in the tent, something Andrew couldn’t have said “babes you should shower.” Strike 1. Next they started to drive around the area looking for scenic mountain tops or low lying river valleys! They found a farm that would be perfect for lunch, except it was a truck stop, and gave serious convenience store vibes. Strike 2. Next they found what looked like a River side park- Andrew knew this would be the perfect spot! Except it was dusty, overgrown, and outhouses were spattered everywhere. Strike 3. Upset about not finding the perfect scenery Andrew suggested they go back to the farm and tent, and enjoy reading a bit on the deck overlooking the pond. While Vicki went inside to get a book, Andrew got down on one knee and popped the question at the tent under a gorgeous oak tree. It was perfect. Vicki and Andrew called their parents and Vicki explained to her mom everything Andrew had said, only she couldn’t remember any of it because the ring was too beautiful. She had to ask Andrew to repeat his speech, to which she only loved him more in that moment. They laughed all night. We can’t wait to share our marriage and the rest of our lives with you!
