It all started down in the vast cornfields of Champaign, IL during Devanshi and Prem’s final year of college. Devanshi and Prem were both part of the infamous UIUC Browntown squad. Prem, the Fizaa Bollywood star, had hundreds of girls lining up to watch him dance. Devanshi, the Michelin-Star chef of Dee’s Kitchen, had hundreds of hungry boys lining up to be fed her delicious meals. Despite their on campus fame, Prem had always just admired Devanshi from afar. He was close friends with Devanshi’s roommate and constantly made excuses to go to their apartment just for a chance to be in Devanshi's presence and a taste of the food she made. Slowly, thanks to Senior Dance, Devanshi & Prem started hanging out more with the excuse of dance choreography and practice. On one epic night at Brother's Bar & Grill, Prem finally asked Devansh out on a real date to Olive Garden! After sneaking around Champaign for the last two weeks of college, Prem decided he could not leave Champaign without making Devanshi his girlfriend, so he officially asked her out. Devanshi accepted and their love story continued, but from a distance. Shortly after college, Prem moved to Kansas City, while Devanshi moved back to home in Bolingbrook. During this time, their relationship consisted of frequent FaceTime dates and plenty of trips to visit each other but it was difficult for them to meet frequently. However, after three years, Prem moved back to Chicago and could finally see Devanshi all the time since they were only a 30 minute drive away! But WAIT - COVID had other things in mind, as Devanshi and Prem were once again stuck with FaceTime dates in their respective homes. Yet, their love still shined through the phone as they continued strong through the pandemic. As the pandemic slowly wound down, Prem bought a place in downtown Chicago ready to begin his life in the city. But he still had one more big shiny purchase to make....

After spending months searching for the perfect ring and finally having it in hand, Prem had to figure out how to get the diamond on Devanshi’s finger! He knew he wanted a romantic and picturesque ambience, and thought about cooking dinner for the star of Dee’s kitchen, but could not decide on a theme for the evening. Following many discussions with her family and friends, Prem organized a tasting menu, with each course being from a country they would like to travel to during their married life, since one of Devanshi’s favorite things to do is explore new cities around the world. Finally, on May 14, 2021, Prem coaxed Devanshi to his newly purchased Chicago pad under the guise of their weekly romantic date night to pop the big question. She walked into a condo filled with flowers, candles, love, a thoughtfully planned 7-course dinner, and her boyfriend, soon to be fiancée, on one knee with a sparkling diamond ring! Of course Devanshi said yes, and the rest is history!
