Katie was Devan's first friend at KU, they met at orientation for the School of Music and were both majoring in Music Therapy. Devan and Katie reconnected when the couple moved to Omaha, Nebraska in December 2018 and enjoyed spending time together along with Katie's husband, Cody.

So what is a "Best Dad?" The couple talked it over and realized that they had a very unique connection in that they were both very close with their fathers. Devan strongly advocated that they ditch a traditional wedding party and honor their best friends/fathers with their very own titles... whether they liked it or not. Devan can count on her two hands the amount of days in her life that have passed that she hasn't at least spoken to her father on the phone. From allowing her to spend her summers traveling with him in the Frontier League as a child to taking her on all of the college visits, Devan is very grateful for the special relationship she has with her dad. His favorite cat of their group of four is Tom!

So what is a "Best Dad?" The couple talked it over and realized that they had a very unique connection in that they were both very close with their fathers. Growing up Rusty was always recognized as looking just like his father. Their relationship has always been near and dear to Rusty whether it’s bonding over Cleveland sports or craft beer. Rusty wouldn’t be the man he is today without Greg and is so excited to have him as his Best Dad. Greg is partial to Loretta when it comes to the couple’s cats.

Becky and Rusty have a really great relationship -- she even made an impromptu road trip to visit the couple when they lived in Omaha in early 2019 that was filled with great food and a trip to the famous zoo. Fun Fact: Rusty officiated his sister's wedding in 2017!

Rusty's mom has been a huge help with the wedding preparation - from accompanying Devan to find her dress to being willing to jump in and help with anything she can. Rusty can't wait for their mother/son dance at the reception!

Daughter of Rusty's close friend from bartending at Jackie O's, Candice. Candice won the award for "best reaction to finding out the couple was engaged."

Rusty and Devan have known Sydney since their days of working at The Summit together. The couple traveled to East Lansing, MI to visit "Syd" during an internship in the summer of 2017 and have stayed close ever since. Devan couldn't pass up the chance to exploit Syd's wedding planning experience and is grateful to have her help as the big day approaches.
